I thought about this one a while but never really could figure out which OS the Matrix would run on. Would it be a *nix, Windows of some sort, Mac OS, or its own? Makes you wonder do they want ease of use or stability? Any comments.......

Since the matrix is inherently evil it might be running this.
Hmm, thats a pretty interesting idea actually. Most likely it would have its own operating system, but if I had to choose an actual existing OS, I would probably say AIX because its what the US Government uses on the super computers like ASCI White. I don't think something like the matrix would run on windows, cause then everyone would be able to bend the rules like neo did ;)
lol speaking of aix, has any one read in anti onlines area where they have this dictionary type thing? for aix they call it aches lol cause of some funny reason, i really recommend looking it up its hilariouse, i love this site lol.
it wouldnt be windows, you cant reboot it everyone couple of days and expect people not to noticing their world disappearing for a brief time while the boxes were down. i dare say one of its own that we dont know about
The matrix IMHO runs without operating system..
It is a nural-network wich interconnects thrue the auto-ordering mechanism that is inherant with large numbers..
The vastness of the machine(s) causes it to autocreate it's own operations.
Just like animals.. (and us for that matter)
interesting point JinX. The thought of that never even crossed my mind
To add to what the_JinX said,
The Oracle meditates for a moment and then intones: --More--
...The Matrix is an OS itself...
AS/390!!! ;)
VMS with the grey wall!!!
z/OS ?
hehe more cerebrial humor for a monday.
El Diablo
Win Me with AOL 7.0 beta running on the background
MatrixBSD 3.2.14 beta:
Free, functional, and incredibly dangerous.
Lolz, If it ran on windows the people would keep running into errors...wait, thats kinda how life is...maybe it would run on windows @_@
I agree, this is a fashinating idea but.. FreeBSD was atleast involved in the production, see image :).Quote:

i guess theyll b using some os based on *nix.......:-/
i recon it would probably run on something really crappy and basic but realible as win 3.11
Ha Ha all of these are really interesting answers. I always figured it would be a buggy version of Linux. Stable but still unstable enough to cause problems in life that we all seem to go through. Thanx for posting.
