Still Cannot Assign AntiPoints

For about a week and a half I have been unable to successfully assign antipoints. Actually, I can assign them about 10% of the time....the first time. The other 90% of the time, after I have selected the 'approve' or 'disapprove' radio button and filled in a comment, the antipoint box goes blank and just times out. What is interesting, however, is that of that 90%, I can eventaully assign points maybe 70% of the time *IF* I close the assignment box and refresh, then open and assign (it will time out), close and refresh, etc.....basically to get it to work I have to go through the whole assignment process three times....and even then it doesn't always work. Just a note, this only started after the recent changes. Anyone else still having this problem??

**PLEASE**
Last time I posted this I had to delete it because (even though I asked for it not to) it immediately turned into an antipoint bitch session. Please don't let that happen again.

i've not noticed any problems with the atipoint system (at least for me) of course i don't use them too much anyway... has anyone else noticed this?

I just noticed this today, I tried three times to assign some points and never got it to work.

i dont hardly ever give any unless i feel that what im about to give to was deserving because well, i feel to many people are to quick to hand out the reds (not to me iv been lucky) but anyway, a few times iv had that problem where i couldnt give out any, like, basically what she said would happen and then id wait and try again and it would either work or id give up, either way it doesnt happen much at all, it may be a browser setting, i usually used Konquerer, Mozilla, links or IE on here and havnt had many problems at all.

i know it could go both ways, it was a joke, but i honestly dont care either way, a green or a red dot next to me isnt exactly gunna make my aunt leave or get me laid ya know?....well unless aliens attacked and green dots saved you...but either way id still loose :)

Okay, still not working for me most of the time unless I try at least three times. But, I can live with that....there are certainly worse things that could happen. ;)

Some of the time I get a 404 message and sometimes it just hangs when I try to assign them. I thought it was just me breaking my computer again, I am getting kinda used to having to assign the several times, I even copy the comment before I submit it in case I loose it ( I know I am lazy, but hey). Glad to see other people are having just as much fun as me :)

I've been getting white pages when giving APs and as well sometimes when I make a post... Nothing loads the page just goes white... The solution - hit refresh/reload... The page then magically pops up and anything you've submitted is submitted...

I have personally the habbit to do so with my replies. But it is outdated now because I use Mozilla (it keeps this sort of infos and re-put them when I go back after a problem) and because I haven't been this sort of problems on AO since at least 6 or 7 months.

Edit: Oh, and after testing it today, the AP system works well for me.

quick note, I just assign'd a Positive anti-point, and in my status box it shows up as a negative for him.......

I was having the same problem as well, with the screen going blank after I submitted an anti-point. But is seems lately to have not been happening at all. I think something was fixed.

However, and maybe this deserves a new thread, Ive noticed that when you first start typing a reply post, after the first 10 or so characters are typed, the cursor jumps off of the text field, making it so you have to click back into the text field to continue typing your message.
This may just be a browser thing, if so let me know, its not that big of a deal, I just thought I would bring it up. Im sorry if this has been brought up before.

I think that is a browser thing since I was able to type this really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, long and extremely annoying sentence without problem. ;)

Maybe the Server thinks yer special? ;)

Hey umm... *cough* uh. you guys think that you can test *clears throat* positive ones on me too? lol. No really, my assignments seem to be working all right. If it is a browser problem what browser is everyone using. I'm using Netscape 7.0. I think I have had problems with IE6 though.

Sorry LordB, I think you still have some work to do here. I ran into this problem about 10 minutes ago. I PM'ed mathgirl32 and asked her about it, and she ran into some problems as well. I guess you will have to re-look at this issue.

Could it be browser interaction?? Maybe if people who are having problems could post their browser and OS type? I've noticed that when I use Netscape 7.0.1 the system is superspeedy and I never have problems. But go into XP with IE 6 and I get these weird script errors when I reply to things.

Why do any of you care about AntiPoints? If you don't like someones post to bad. Do you expect that you will agree with what ever person in the world? Do you think that some dot on a website really matters? Or is it just a vehicle you use to force your opinion on someone in an anonymous fashion? Or is it a crude attempt at majority rule censorship? Grow up.

Um...AP's failed for me today.....ugh AO is falling apart....wish the new owners would at least tell us wot their doing so we can anticipate bug's instead of reporting them all the time :( oh well.....um.....ok.....er......damn it...I want to give away my AP's :( :P

I doesn't work for me either sometimes... When I just hit F5 (refresh) a few times it works. When I go back and press the submit button again it also works. It's getting rare the thing succeeds to assign my points the first time I click it.

um...ok...I re-installed Java to get rid of my Java errors (DIdn't work so I'm using Proxomitron to supress) and set up Proxomitron.....either one of the two are doing something usefull, or they'v fixed it...coz I can now assign AP's again... :) oh well.....l8r

almost ALL of my previously assigned Anti-points are now ALL NEGATIVE! Any one else having this problem? Are the people who i tried to give positive points to actually seing a negative as well? ALSO: They were all correct like a week ago.....

If I remember correctly you need 50 antipoints to be able to assign them to others. Judging from your grey dot, you don't have 50. If you assign a point it will appear grey in the persons antipoint centre, I heard something some while ago it turns red only in your own ap centre...
