Deitel & Deitel "C++ How to Program."
Hacking Exposed
Information System Audit -- Ron Weber....
Network Intrusion Detection: An Analyst Guide (1st, 2nd and 3rd Editions -- read 'em and have 'em all). ;)
I have to say the Bible is the best book I ever read ;).
Cya
Maximum Security for network security-related subject.
Introduction to C programming: a modular approach for C language.
The Godfather.
see no evil - cliff stoll (love the fact that it mentions rtm's dad)
see no evil - bob baer (since this is kind of like cat and mouse stuff with politics)
i would have to say that it would be the xanth series by Piers Anthony.
I've read a lot of books on various security topics, but the one I've found that is comprehensive and quite relevant is "Inside Network Perimeter Security" by Stephen Northcutt, Lenny Zeltser, Scott Winters, et. al
The coverage is not only technical, but also covers important areas in security such as audits. policies, etc....
I dont have one favourite but a couple that i read over and over again as they are my favourites but all on different topics so no one book could be my favourite.
Iliad - Homer
Illuminatus Trilogy
Do andorids dream of electric sheep- Philip K Dick (bladerunner for those that dont know)
Celestine Prophecies
DNS & BIND - Allbitz and liu
Network intrusion Detection 1,2,3 An analysts handbook
Approaching Zero - Clough and Mungo
Lord of the Rings - Tolkein
Hobbit - Tolkein
Silmarrilion -Tokein
Neuromancer - Gibson
1984 - Orwell
Children of the Matrix- Icke
and any copy of VIZ
Animal Farm - Orwell
Mein Kampf - Hitler
The Bean Trees - Kingsolver
Of Mice and Men - Steinbeck
The Silmarilion takes a bit of effort to read doesn't it? I'd say my favourite books so far would be:
Lord of the Rings
Dune (the first book)
C - The Complete Reference
Pretty much any Wrox book (they're amazing)
And the book that got me into programming, C for Dummies Vols. I and II
Cheers,
