OK...YOU come up with a thread that you intend to act as a beneficial tool that the whole community to contribute to, then have some JOHNNIE-COME-LATELY copy the inspiration behind that thread and then claim it as his own and see how it makes you feel. IF ChrisWuk wants to contribute, thats great....he found some great tools and I'm more than happy to concede that. They would have made a GREAT addition to the thread that was ALREADY started LONG before he posted his thread. Instead, he choose to take someone elses idea and pass it off as his own in a manner that doesn't leave room for the rest of the community to contribute. So much for honor and good manners.
To add insult to injury he posts a link to his copy-cat thread to the original thread, therefore tearing down what WAS a good concept....the people of AO coming together and pooling resources in a way that benefits us all. Sorry Chris, but I consider that to be a low blow that was undeserved and VERY selfish on your part. If you disagree, then by all means feel free to post, PM or take whatever action you deem appropriate.

You had posted FOUR tools, and NONE of them were on MY list, grow up man, its because of ppl like you that i dont have any greenies, the ones i work for are taken away by power hungry selfish ppl like you !!

There is a lot of reccurent thread on AO!!! Maybe a solution will be to create new page highly visible & accessible from the home page like:
- the 50 security top tools
- Common UDP, TCP , IP ports
- What is a proxy
- the 10 top linux distros

Hey ALLENB how can you sit there and neg chris for doing the same thing i gave you the heads up on yesterday. For anybody that didnt notice before he took the thread down allenb had done the exact same thing with a difrent thread on a new worm warning. I didnt neg him i just let him know that there was allready a thread posted. he thanked me profusely. Even gave me greenies for letting him know. Oh yea and the thread that allen had done an acidental repeat of was in the top 10 and the worms name was in the thread name. just something for all you guys jumping chris overthis to think of. I think allen is just ticked because chris put more work into this one than he did his.

Not only is the list and the links plagiarized, but his rankings are stolen too. The Wilders.org list contains star rankings and ChrisWuk's 3/5, 4/5 rankings match the star rankings.
I am curious why the original post is still pegged on the positive side and the thread is ranked as extremely positive, yet ChrisWuk's profile still has only the one grey dot for AP's. Based on that it would seem the negatives and positives are balancing out and should be reflected both in how his original post and the thread as a whole are ranked.

It is a good list, but you should have cited the source or just linked to it instead of implying or claiming to have invested time and effort in acquiring this list of tools.

This thread is being close for now until I discuss this with other moderators as to whether to do a complete deletion. This is an obvious plagarism of the wilders.org website as referenced here with alterations to make it harder to find.
Might I suggest in the future that this kind of thing could easily be promoted by simply saying "Hey guys! I found this site that would be most excellent reference!" and then site the location? You'll earn far more respect that way than you will attempting to pass off info as your own.
