How about just downloading an iso and burning it yourself?
I want the CD-Roms I dont want to burn them my self.
But where do i download them from ? (Just to know)
Cheers
It depends on what distro you want. Just check their website. There are usually links to download sections on the mainpage.
Goto http://www.linux.org/ and follow the links through the distribution section
I was thinking of putting all the linux isos onto DVD and making them available for a small fee to cover the postage and packaging.
Does anyone think this would be usefull.
Does anyone know of any legal concerns for doing the same.
mark, could be a good idea..
could you do a openBSD freeBSD netBSD dvd for me ??
Jinx. No Problem.
I have t1 here so download isn't a problem.
Got urls for downloads ?
OpenBSD 3.3
select one here: http://www.openbsd.org/ftp.html
FreeBSD 5.0
select one here: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...rrors-ftp.html
NetBSD 1.6.1
select one here: http://www.netbsd.org/mirrors/#ftp
then I can finaly check wich BSD is the one for me ;)
if you want I can dig up direct links to the iso's..
thanks in advance, and we'll pm about cost etc..
Mark.. that actually sounds like a top idea... I'd be interested if you get a DVD together (and if you do could you let us all know in the forums etc). If you're interested one the the UK mags PC Utilities did something similar not long ago... they had (I think) 6 different flavours of linux and not ones you'd necessarily epect either (i.e. RH and mandrake) ...debian and slackware were in there i think as well as some more obscure variants... e.g. vector, peanut etc... don't think there would be a problem with you doing this... like I say let us know if you carry out your idea....

Just go to http://www.linuxiso.org and choose your distribution. There's also
a manual how to burn the images.
It seems that linux iso org does all the isos on cd for about £40 + delivery.
I will do them cheaper
It may take me a while to download.
Watch this space.
Also if anyone has any additional linux distributions they would like on the DVD set post them here and I will download them and add it.
hey guys i dint get the answer to my question.

I am sure a well meaning email anyone participating in the promotion of Linux in Kenya should be able to help you out.
You say your on a tight budget (as we all are) and dont want to spend money ... if in fact its a case of cant afford (paying for every kb of download or simply destitute like me) ... pm me with a postal address/collection point and I will be happy to mail you the 3 cd download release of Mandrake 9.1 to get you started - but please try and exhaust all local avenues first.
I'm with theJinx. . .when you get the cd burned I'd like a collection of all the BSD's!!!! Pm me when you're through w/ it, I'll give you all the info you need. . .heh heh, if'n you could include the all the ports on there I'll be your best friend!! :)
