ok gonna keep this short 'n sweet.

i got flamed ,flamed BADLY.

the thread: TUTORIALS/"JAVASCRIPT: great introduction code"

nobody told me what i did wrong, and now

I AM SITTING HERE WITH MY 2 RED DOTS BURNING MY ASS TO SAY SOMETHING GOOD.

my POINT being:


I GOT FLAMED AND AND I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG.

i always thought of AO as being an educational site WITHOUT ALL THE FkUP TEACHERS.

but HOW IS IT EDUCATING PEOPLE BY FLAMING THEM AND NOT TELLING THEM WHAT THEY DID WRONG.

thats why i called this one FLAMES WITH NO NAMES (wich means you dont care who you are flaming, except for , that you are flaming)

Man don't get mad there are some *******'s that do that, I don't care if you feel so flame me I will make another account. Now at the same time everybody here has worked for there points so why would you take them away for no reason. I always give a reason when I neg.

Perhaps members will disagree with me on the security part because basicly you can write a tutorial about anything but the second part gives a quite well explanation of why I negged you.

I am a dutchy and I understand perfectly clear what that says.
To translate it freely for the non-dutch (africaner) speakers amounst us it says "you are all big ****"
It seems to me that you have an attitude problem.

Ok Noodle I will say this you should at least tell him when you are giving him the points why you negged him. I have not seen the tutorial, but from what noodle says it seems like you have a done nothing but copy a piece of code. Come on I will go read it and come back with my opinion. not going into much detail but just to show you what we mean - tutorials should come with some kind of explination so that person reading it gets a better understanding of what is being done.......their are a 101 different websites where people could go to simply cut&paste some code

come on think before you post - read other posts on similar things see how they were viewed by the other members - learn from them as to how to structure your posts....what to do and what not to do and then try again

I went and read it Uh EINZ that was a piece of something. You didn't teach anyone anything. The point of a tutorial is to teach them something. Now I will say the people that are Negging EINZ right now are being over ecentric. I didn't know that, that was what you posted but I will say Einz you just SOL live and learn I have a tutorial that I wrote that was a piece of crap. Live and learn that is what it is all about. BTW to neg someone for no reason or because you don't like there post is Childish.

Whizkid2300 what the hell is your deal? It seems to me your only purpose here is to get people to like you. You start off on einzstein's side... and then you are against him, because a few senior members are. You want greenies and a higher post count. I'd suggest you quit worrying about those and figure out who you are and what you are doing here. Think about being a useful part of the community instead of a pain in everyone's a**. I try to read everything posted here, and I seldom see something of use from you. You agree with everyone to try and be popular and just second other people's opinions. You're wasting my time and everyone elses.

if you would just grow up a bit and have had asked politely why you got flamed, instead of going postal on us and the english language, you would have gotten better results.

Hey we all have are styles of posting I seriously was not trying to be a post hoe. But, if I am goilty sorry and no this is not an attempt to make people like me. But, Neggative I found our later on after I had posted my origional post that I was going to go read about it because I didn't know the entire story. Know the post that I posted that in was there because I was telling Noodle that I was questioning his Negging. But oh well live and learn.

He got what he had coming to him. For a long time now he's been nothing but a pain in the ass. He types half caps, half lower case and never makes much sence. He could have asked what was wrong with his tutorial, but he didn't do that... he attacked us. It should be obvious by now what's going to happen if you start badmouthing AO. Besides his complaint was unfounded. Obviously, from the C&Ps in here, people explained what they were talking about in the negs, and it says who the neg came from, so it was all explained. After reading this post I had a look at some of his old threads and although some of what you say is true he was in no way offensive or a hinderance to the smooth running of this site. Your post shows a very immature look at these forums as if you are not sure why somebody would really be banned from a website. Maybe its the thrill of your power that has you posting like this, I'm not sure I actually thought you were an intelligent mature guy before this.

As you put it vanHallen and Ennis were both good to this guy but for a reason, they are forgiving guys who see his potential and not his spelling mistakes. Sorry but if you care about the stickies which are there basically because users like allen and Ennis wanted to make sure actual idiots didnt post crap, this user is not that bad really. At least you are showing signs that you are not a pretentious person and for this I like you.

Whizkid you are trying to become a real AO member, lots of points, lots of posts and well liked but if you really think about there is so much more you could do with your time such as learning how to become a really informed user who simply shows his intelligence in the security field and gains points with no effort like say Terr.

Well it is some-what unfortuniate that EINzTEIN was banned for this post but then again it may turn out to be somewhat of a mixed blessing for him - by leaving that name behind and opening another account he can also leave behind any conceptions the people here at AO may have about him.
Hopefully this will show him that it is important to look at the posts that have come befor yours before jumping in head long....yes perhaps we here at AO have beome a lil heavy handed and should make allowances for the newer members amongst us but EINzTEIN had a post count of 77 when he was banned which suggests to me that he should have had a fairly good idea of what would be seen as a good post and what type of posts would result in a negative response.
But it is not the tutorial I feel was the reason for his banning - I have no problem in admiting that yes I did neg him for this thread and I feel justified in doing so - I did not however neg for the tutorial post as I feel that a better approach...as I attempted to do in my first post to this thread.....would be to steer him in the right direction about how he should go about structuring and wrting threads for the tutorials forum. His post did show alot of promise if he had given soe explination..
However this thread did not show any promise. There has been many such threads in the past and all have ended the same way. With the person whinning about negs only recieving more. These types of thread do nothing but highlight - in the vast majority of cases - an immaturity on the behalf of the thread starter. Time and time again people have asked that all AP grievences be worked out through PM and not in th forums. In the past however this was not as easy to do as it is now due to the fact that you could not see who was assigning you the AP's but even in those days I replied to each and every question I recieved about AP's as I am sure many others did. I only assign AP's when I feel they are deserved - as was the case here (IMHO) - and I have no problem in explaing exactly why I felt that a post deserved AP's be it neg or pos
Ok am starting to whitter on here - if you made it this far in the post without skipping on to the next one i commend you ;) so I 'll round it up by briefling stating what I am trying to say

<nutshell> Yes it may be sad that a member can be banned for one such post - but if he had refrained from airing his dirty laundry in public he would not have recieved anywhere near as many negs and the matter would have been forgotten. So I do not pin any kind of guilt, nor do I feel any myself for his banning as in reality it was the fact that he had not read or had decided to ignore the guidelines (or unwritten rules) of AO and it was this that caused the flurry of negs and ultimatly his banning</nutshell>

I do not feel this was over the top - the message is very clear there - if he had asked why he recieved AP's (even tho it has been shown the reason was clearly stated in the majority of cases) then this would not have happened - which is exactly what I am saying :::
