I recently bought Visual Studio .Net, but I can't find the cd key. Does anyone know where it is and if you don't know where it is can you give me a site for the key.

look on the back of each CD-ROM case...you should see a list of numbers. with the words "Product Key" written next to them. Its a sticker and mine is yellow. If you are truely confused, pm me and i will try to better explain...
Grab your receipt, walk into store, tell problem, or call tech support with number on product booklet. Problem Solved :)

That dont mean dick. Lots of people have used that trying to get keycodes.
But then again if you cant make tech support believe you that you own the copy and somehow the store doesnt wanna help you, which they should... This key code works on almost every Microsoft product, and should work fine on yours:

Would you like me to take a picture of me holding up a CD key that is on the lil CD slip? I have one in paper with the CD key on it, and one in a lil platic bag type thingy with the CD key printed on it.
I did call and they wouldn't help me cause I opened the box!!!

Well, take it back to the store, tell them "I need a CD key to use this thing". If you need to, call the people that made it and tell them the situation. Tell them the store wont help you out and you need a key to use it.Quote:

They have ways of proving you bought this. You could go to the store and call them and have the manager of the store tell the guy on the phone that you did buy it.

Congrats! You may of just purchased a illegal copy of Visual Studio .Net. A real copy would have a cd case with a cd key on it. I would suggest going here and reporting the bastards to Microsoft. That is if you really purchased it. An old saying goes "if it looks to good to be true, it probably is too good to be true." Uhm... Wikkid your key, is not all Zeros and one's it is usally about 10-15 digits long.
All types of letters and Numbers.
Now I know everyone is going to get all Pissy about this, but.
Syphon considering that you are lieing and you didn't buy it and need a Key, just go to Google, and type in "VB.net Key" You might just find a Key with in that search.
You could always, search IRC Server's and see, if someone has one that they will give you.
Maybe he thinks he can syphon the number off of us? ROFL
D00d! If you really want the cd key for that program there are many ways to get it off the internet. I also think that anyone with the "orbs" to use that program wouldn't be here asking for the key... he would already have it and be asking us how to use it. JMHO

Assuming that you did buy the software it sounds as if you might have been ripped off. I see quite a lot of MS products over here in paper or cardboard cases they usually have the words "OEM Product: For Distribution Only with a New PC"
Look in the box and carefully through any literature that came with it, and on your desk, the floor around where you opened it. You are looking for a label about 2.75 inches by 1 inch. Check that it is not stuck to any of the literature.
I am not aware of Microsoft bundling that particular product, but is always possible I suppose?
I still think that you have been ripped off, as you should not have been able to buy an OEM version on its own?
If it were a pirate copy, I would have expected you to be supplied with some sort of instructions as to how to get it to work. I would also expect you to be able to spot it as pirate because of the lack of MS security holograms?

I just dug out a word 97 disk that was OEM I think. It was 20 digits minus the OEM and all 1's worked just fine.Quote:

If you have a word or excel 97 disk... try it out.
Most people don't use 97 any more though... either 2000 or 2k3.

hey there XBlackIceX.. you're new (welcome to AO) here.. so I'll give you a suggestion or two.
it's generally wise not to bump up old threads unless there's something very useful to add.
(of course, usefulness is a subjective term)
There is this antipoint system at AO, that members can give negative or postive points to a post and if you happen to be the "sucker of the day" you will be likely to get negative points for posting and not know the "in's and out's" of the forum. If you happen to accumulate -300 points, then you will be banned "automagically" ..
now I will test my powers of moderator hackmanship and close this thread..
