THIS IS A SECURITY SITE. NOT A HACKING SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!
so which tutorial to read first
Are you intrested in security? ? ? This site is a rich Source of security meassurements that help "PREVENT" or how to handle security issues and also other kind of probles such as hardware and software problems.
What do you mean by Hacking ?(Gf's Hotmail Account hacking, etc.)
Please read first The site Faq and search in the forum for similar post before you get negged or misslead by the type of question that you are asking.
Have a nice day
I would recommend this site for security. Learn as much as you can here. After your done if you still want to hack, find another site.
You should read everything you can get your hands on , there are plenty of texts on this website plus try some of these links
http://blacksun.box.sk
http://www.techtutorials.com/
also if your intrested in internet security etc you should try to get familiar with linux or unix (freeBSD, openBSD)
as these operating systems are more stable than windows and have more advanced security features plus they are open source which will enable you to change and add features as you wish check out these sites for information also security updates are more quick to be addressed as the whole community can check for them and contribute and most of these os developers beleive in full disclosure and addressing the bugs and getting fixes straight out as soon as possible unlike microsoft who tend to take longer for fixes.
openbsd
Mandrake <--- good for newbies
linuxiso <-- collection of osi files for linux and bsd
and about hacking depends what you mean :) people have differnt notions on what hacking involves
hacking can involve a multitude of things, it's not just about downloading someone elses exploit and running it, best thing to do is learn a programming language like C and ASM and learn to eventually write your own :)
yes i am interested in security, but which tutorial should i start with??
if i read it will i be able to hack people???
You probably couldn't hack your way out of a paper bag which had holes in it, and i might add your in the wrong place! this forum doesnt condone the discussion of illegal activities!
Well security tutorials are to prevent people like you that whant to hack into systems that they don't have permisions.
i recomend you to delete this post before you get negged

OMFG.
This web site is based on the prevention of hacking the spreading the knowledge to other people how to protect therie computers too. We do not teach "hacking" nor do we tollerate the "how to" questions that are for intended for harms purpose.
my library has this book, also i got the hacking exposed book which one to read first?
Hexem2000...............you are not right.............nor are you wrong.........I guess the guy should look at an environment with *nix servers and windoze clients?...at least for the next 5 years?
Hi Spools.exe...........yes, but I am not a salmon, steelhead or trout....so I won't rise to the bait :D
I think that a lot of problems come from our understanding of the expression "hacking"?
To me it means someone doing something that they are not entitled to do...........to others it just means being technically competent???
I will not get involved in this one at this stage.
Cheers folks
EDIT:
"Up 650"
"flood to 90 feet"
"up scope"
"open bow doors tubes one through five"
"charge impulse tanks tubes one through five"
"compute solution to 217.42.171.72"
oh well :)
god, u gotta be kidding me. Please tell us you're kidding. I hope i'm wrong but to me it looks like he's just a kid who's trying to hack is g/f's hotmail account. Anyways, if you're not a kid who's trying to hack his g/f's hotmail, check this out: www.happyhacker.com. Its a bit out of date but it will give you some information. Also, read books. go to places such as Barn and Nobles and stuff and sit there, grab a few security books and read read read. A good one is Hacking Exposed. Also a few other good ones are hack.it. Some of these books are a bit out of date but they'll still give you an insight into the security world. Another good way to learn is by practicing on your OWN network. Buy a couple of cheap comps in yard sales or anywhere else where they're very very cheap and build a network in your house. Then set up different security settings for each one including different firewalls and AVs. Practice with those. but read a lot of books and tuts. Another good place to start is "HTTP://www.google.com".
Peace
i do not want to hack hotmail account, i do not want to do any illegal hacking i want to hack to learn the concepts of security. and i am not a little kid
are your retarded? Searously, you will nor recive any help with your wanted "hacking" knowledge. Just forget it, no one will help you. Try MiRc or something. And I Repeat
WE ARE NOT GOING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO "HACK"!!!!! THIS IS A SECURITY WEBSITE.
Do you see that one word in that last sentence.... SECURITY!!!!! We help protect computers here not exploit them.
Well first lets not call it hacking..... Lets call it expanding your knowlegde of computer security and its flaws. We can help you with that. Not hacking.
ok if i would like to learn about security which tutorial or book should i use??
Use common sense like uhhhhhhhhhhh www.google.com then press the keys on your keyboard to spell the words internet security tutorials! k thnx bye!
Well we don't have just 1 tutorial that will explain to you everything about internet security. i would recomment browsing through some of the tutorials in this web site. I would recommend the folowing books on TCP/IP in general.
Also i would recommend just staying up to date with this website. Everytime i visit this site i learn 1 or 2 more things. If you post some of your knowledage then you sure to recive some from another member. this site is a very good resource from also anything you can think of that has to do with the internet and computers in general.
Hey quod................here is some serious old fart advice.
Search the net (google) for CIAC and CERT......have a look...maybe subscribe? (free)
Also look at the major AV sites like Semantec, Kaspersky, NAI, Panda and so on. Bookmark them and subscribe to their security bulletins (free)
Books are fine for general principles, but are at least 3 months out of date before they are published...this is a "now" subject?
Start slow,
Stay well
