Things will change and people will decide based on your new actions. But to expect them to change overnight or instantaneously is a big assumption. People will remember for now what you did recently. Give it time and you'll be in the greens. I have seen people change things around going from your position to positive in a few weeks.
I would humbly suggest not to worry about the APs as much. It isn't as critical as you might think. Post honestly and straightwardly with the least amount of crap and things should be fine. This is a harsh environment, no bones about that but it's one where you could potentially learn something new if you look carefully.
The are giving you negs because of the posts, not because they don't like you.
Don't apologize, just change your ways. Oh yeah, and don't make so many 2 or 3 word posts...

You are most likely running linux or something else. You need Stupid(tm) wet-ware & it works better with Windoze. Its supposed to exploit stupidity built inside alot of windows users. I don't think so. People are offering advice. I notice that you are no longer in red. That is a good sign, IMHO.
One thing that might help you is to be aware you are not the first who has done what you did. In fact, others who have done the same thing, have apologize, been good for a short while, then reverted to their old ways because things didn't move that fast.
I wouldn't worry so much about the APs and would be more inclined to figure out how you might fit into the AO community and how you can contribute or benefit from the community.
