AOL Disappear
http://www.astalavista.com/tools/cha...pearingAct.exe
Ever accidently allow someone to add you to their AOL buddy list? Ever just want off somebody's AOL buddy list? This little program will allow you end your pain. This implements a special packet that was found in the AOL IM client TestBuddy.
Simply by typing in your username, password, and the user's nickname who has you on their list... you can remove yourself from that list.
Use at your own risk. I've tested it on my AOL account and it seams to work.
-
or you can use AOL privacy features to only allow certain users, or block certain users... not that it would remove you from the their buddy list, you simply wouldn't appear online/active. I'm curious as to how this application works. I used to code AIM clients a lot (back in the day) any more information on this subject or possible some source would be great?
-
Well this files is featured at Astalavista.com. I was goind to run my packet sniffer later in the day and run the program. When i do i will post the Raw Data Sent/Received to/from the AOL application.

I never use AIM but this sounds interesting.. I'll pass it on to friends, thx spools.
maybe try a de-complier on it.. although you'll have to see what dll's it calls up and look at those too.

I should of said disassembler..
I've played around with W32Dasm a little.. has some decent help built in.

If I might suggest Ollydbg? I find it easier to follow a program by debugging, than looking at a disassembled file.

EDIT: btw, it's free. :)

I catch your drift Juridian..
I probably shouldn't talk about things I know very little about..
and yes, your right groovicus.. you need to be able to step through the program.
but W32Dasm does have a built in debugger.
and thanks for the link for Ollydbg.. I'll have a look sometime.
-
maybe its just me but i think juridian might have the same idea but i would be wary of any program that needs my username and password. even to remove myself from others lists. Curious to hear the results from the debugging/decompiling that is being done

I need some good decompilers, also some good packet sniffers w/ incomming and outgoing sinffing features. Thanks - Spools.exe
-
Decompilers:
W32dasm (commercial, may be able to find older, free version)
Ida Pro (version 3.x is free)
Sniffers:
Snort (Search EagleX)
Ethereal
(just a couple that I have some working knowledge)
EDIT: pm me if you need more info
-
the part of entering ur password doesnt sound to cool...that could lead to total identity theft and other crap. Why would it need ur password???
-
i downloaded it and used it with my AIM account and it worked like a dream. Anyways, it needs your password because this thing logs onto the AOL servers and makes the changes. You cant be signed on to AIM/AOL while running this thing because you cant have two screen names signed on at the same time...anyways, good program...and it didnt come along with any spyware or anything...
-
First thing get rid of aol..
second aol will do this for you as said previosly.
you can block any aol screen name you want go to aol keyword settings
