Real Excuses for Not Using Seatbelts..

I had to chuckle this morning when reading the Toronto Star' article on the Ontario Provincial Police's seatbelt blitz. They targetted drivers who don't wear seatbelts. Some of the excuses for not wearing one were (paraphrased and taken directly from article):

- "The police are a bunch of a communists!"

- "I just had breast implants"

- ".. I just came from the dentist"

- "It's my constitutional right not to wear a seatbelt"


A 41-year-old minivan driver from Mississauga who told police he didn't need to wear a seat belt because he had "superior driving skills" and had never been in a collision. He quickly changed his tune when a truck sideswiped his van while he waited for his ticket.

I looked for the article online but couldn't find it. Needless to say, some of the reactions by individuals when they get tickets is kinda funny. :D

yes.. the excuses can be outrageous and funny at times.. "breast implants" hehehe

but on the serious side, many people do feel it's their right to choose. I feel that way too.
I say.. if they want to risk their lives that way, let them.

I had a friend who was killed, he was thrown from the car.. he would've lived.
I'm pretty sure my kids and I will always wear the belts.

hahahaha ive been hearing those all weekend because of that highway blits on the 401 this weekend my favor it was "I wasnt wearing my seatbelt becuase of my superior driving skills."
i was on that highway on friday for most of the day, I saw damn near 20-30 cops. they were like ants :)

Okay, they're all lame, but I can almost understand the breast implant one. Think about it for a minute...how bad is your chest going to hurt after you have that done? And where is the seatbelt going to hit you? :eek: That would suck. My advice....if you were meant to have big boobs, god would have given them to you in the first place.

I guess she felt if she had bigger knockers the cop would let her off with a warning because he would be too busy looking at them and forget about writing the ticket.

Kind of stupid... but just one more to add that I read somewhere...

A woman gets pulled over by a cop for speeding.

The cop goes up to the car and is all ready to write the ticket:

Cop: Miss, Do you know why I pulled you over?
Miss: Of course! You wanted to ask me to the policemans' ball.
Cop: Miss... we're police officers... we don't have balls.

The cop just realizing what he had said was so embarassed that he just gave her a warning and let her go.

I thought it was kind of funny.
