Share Your Bookmarks!

I got to thinking this since I was only able to recover around 90% of my crashed HDD, and my bookmark file was part of that 10%. Considering the type of people here and the numbers involved, I'll bet there's a lot of useful bookmarks floating around here.

Everyone who feels they have something to add to this (and the ones who don't, it can't hurt), attach your bookmark file to a post in this thread and share them with everybody. Hopefully we'll all have a massive collection of useful bookmarks. I'll even offer to organize them when it's all done and post an organized, single bookmark file if there's enough feedback. :)

For netscape users, open up Bookmarks > Manage bookmarks > Tools > Export and select an appropriate filename.

For IE users, just zip or tar up the \Documents and Settings\%user%\favorites directory, where %user% is the name your are currently logged in under.

Yes, that is a great resource, however bookmarks there can only be added one at a time. I was hoping beople could post thier bookmark files here to generate a mass library and we could all just leech of each other and import them to our own browsers. I'd post mine, but I don't have any anymore. :mad:

I have uploaded mine. Most of them are just the default links. In fact I don't have many bookmarks. Some are for Gearhead Garage (Love that game). Others are for Pokemon Yellow. Hope that helps! It is a file zipped with WinRAR (One of the best pieces of compression for windows) It is in HTML format (The zipped document).

hum. My bookmarks are not exactly well organised. And as they contain something like 200-300 sites, I will not organise them now.

As promised, here's what I've got so far... over 250 of them organized into folders, each and every one provided by members here.

Netscape should be able to import them with the bookmark manager. With IE, you can simply copy the HTML file into your favorites folder (C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Favorites\) and navigate them as a web page, unless there's a better way.

I'm not sure if they all work, and some categories are still blank. Keep 'em coming and I will add more. This is not yet complete. Suggestions are more than welcome.

Ok .. but we believe that showing our bookmarks releases the evil in our souls to go out and multiply (increase in strength and numbers) to return and destroy our earthly being.. sort of like taking our photograph..



BTW.. many duplicates.. and certainly unsorted.. had a failed attempt at syncronising the bookmarks on 4 systems .. managed to stuff it up.. and only my Techno shite.. all the p0rn is a seperate folder..hehe

Probably not a whole lot of interest here. I moved most of my main web dev links to http://links.digitaldeviation.net and just use that as an online bookmark storage, since that used to be the bulk of the favorites I had.

Holy crap this is a lot of bookmarks! And I was worried about starting from scratch... I've now added links from all of Memory's posts he listed above. There are now over 500 bookmarks in the file and I am still adding links from previous posts. This is going to be one hell of an uber-bookmark file.

Ok, most of the above bookmarks are in this file. We now have over 800 bookmarks, all neatly organized into folders.

Any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
