should we stop stop child porn sites
I've updated your topic as a title of "Help" is a little vague.
And by stopping do you mean breaking into? Breaking the law so stop someone from breaking the law isn't a solution and may cause more problems than it solves. It's better to alert the authorities and let them deal with it.
? Child porn sites are forbidden by the law, so basically they are stopped, of course people still try to put child porn on the internet but there are enough authorised people looking for it. (I think at least)
Is this really a question? I mean who the hell in their right mind is going to say, "No, let's keep child porn alive and well."?
The LEO program (Law Enforcement Online) is the FBI's cyber crime unit based at Luisianna State University. I worked with this unit for close to two years. If you ever saw a child who has been victimized by the child porn trade, you'd never even think to ask a question like this. Better yet, if you ever interviewed the scum that exploits children you wouldn't let your children out of your sight. These people truly should be boiled in acid.
Nuff said.

"YES" insofar as the properly constituted authorities should do so on behalf of the Societies that put them in authority.
It would be totally wrong to attempt to close a child pornography site by "hacking" (modern use not original meaning :) ) There are a number of reasons for this:
1. Wrong + Wrong does not = Right
2. The sites are the "tip of the iceberg", behind it all are child molesters and abusers . The objective is to put these creatures out of circulation, not to drive them underground. It is true that the "consumers" of child pornography are criminal, in that their money is creating the market, but they are "small fry" compared to the producers.
3. To be successful requires some painstaking police work, in order to achieve legitimate prosecutions. Any amateur activity will potentially prejudice this work, destroy evidence, and alert the criminals.
4. ISPs would not knowingly host such sites, if they do they should also be closed, their assets confiscated and their officers imprisoned..............that is the law in any civilised society.
Much as I dislike the regime, I feel that those found guilty of this offence should be sent to the Republic of Iran for sentencing.................I never thought of using a mobile crane for "that".....
Good luck
Yes, if in the us call your local FBI and hand the matter over to them, if europ try interpol, don't know about the rest of the world. Back in my day as a computer tech I had three pedofials busted. Two had kiddy porn as their wallpaper when they brought their system in for work. The third was teh scary one, he was trying t buy a entire home production rig form us (camera, video capture, lights, high end system..this was back in 96 when no one was doing home video capture and quickcams didn't realy work) ..hey allways hasd one or two kids with him when he came in but they where allways difrent kids, had an FBI agent pose as a tech to get him.
I say that we just move all the porn to .sex and be done with it. Then everyone can just block that entirely.
This guy where I used to live got arrested for child pornagraphy. I never would have hought it of him.... His wife found pictures and called the police on him. Taking pitures with his little twin 7 year old neices.

To be serious thought child porn is wrong, and under no surcomstances should it be forgiven. I think anyone convicted of child porn should spend ten min. alone with the father or mother of the abused child. (note that the criminal would be tied in a chair and the parents would have a baseball bat)

i agree that yes these sites should not be allowed to exsist but nihil raised a good point that it is not the small fish that should be shut down we need to get to the source of the problem - but what about those people in internet chat-rooms who "groom" young children??
Is it right to use their own ploy against them?
perhaps pose as such a child and gather evidence against the groomer which can then be handed into the authorities??

what type of self respecting male doesnt like child porn?
Are you serious?Quote:

I can't say i dislike *porn* in general oh well im a guy...But to the extent where little children are exploited is just plain jane old "wrong" and i think TH13's response simulates my thoughts as well...Let the authorities handle it..
I think that Val has a point here:
I do not believe that any "entrapment" defence legislation should apply to this crime, we are dealing with perverts here? they are mentally flawed and a danger to society, it does not matter how they are identified.Quote:
but what about those people in internet chat-rooms who "groom" young children??
I do not believe the argument that "my client would never have thought of doing such a thing until the FBI tricked him into it" works here. I would go further and say that failure to report such an approach to the Authorities is also a crime "aiding and abetting" over here?
Cheers
i sincerely hope he is not serious...it almost seems like he HAS to be kidding, i dont think any of the sick pervs who like kiddie porn would just come right out and say it!...maybe someone has his pw and is messing with him? i dunno, it just sounds to dumb to be trueQuote:

This sad story is taken from FBI.gov website.
10 YEARS OF PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN
Cracking Down on Sexual Predators on the Internet
A decade ago, a 10-year-old boy disappeared from his Brentwood, Maryland, neighborhood. Within weeks, the investigation would uncover two pedophiles and a larger ring of online child pornographers. Within two years, it would spawn a major national initiative that is now the centerpiece of the FBI’s efforts to protect children from predatory pedophiles in cyberspace.
Here’s how the events unfolded: When FBI Agents and Prince George’s County police detectives went door-to-door to talk with neighbors following the boy’s disappearance in 1993, they encountered a pair of suspicious men who had been “befriending” local children, showering them with gifts and even taking them on vacation.
Evidence followed that the men had been sexually abusing children for a quarter century. More recently, they had moved online, setting up a private computer bulletin board service not only to “chat” with boys and set up meetings with them but also to share illicit images of child pornography.
That, in turn, led investigators to a larger ring of computer pedophiles. When a similar case with national reach turned up the following year, the FBI realized it was onto an alarming new trend: sexual exploitation of children via the Internet.
A Program Is Born. In 1995, the FBI created its Innocent Images National Initiative (IINI). Its goals: to break up networks of online pedophiles, to stop sexual predators from using the Internet to lure children from their families, and to rescue victims.
Today, 28 of the FBI’s 56 field offices have undercover Innocent Images operations. More than 200 FBI Agents work these cases. Some pose as teenagers or pre-teens in chat rooms to identify “travelers” who seek to meet and abuse children. Others focus on dismantling major child exploitation enterprises.
Since 1995, we’ve opened more than 10,000 total cases and helped secure nearly 3,000 convictions.
Keeping Safe. To report child pornography and/or potential cases involving the sexual exploitation of children, please contact the Crimes Against Children Coordinator at your local FBI Field Office. You can also file an online report at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline at www.cybertipline.com; these reports are forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

In Memoriam. So what happened to the missing 10-year-old-boy whose case started it all? Tragically, he was never found. It is to him – and to the countless victims of child sexual exploitation over the years – that the FBI’s Innocent Images initiative is dedicated.
Very Sad. I say killemall!
by "should we stop child pornography"....who is WE? Should WE stop the hate websites too?
IMHO
There's a good reason why we have special departmetns in the FBI doing exaclty what you want to do. Thats another good reason to not take everything upon yourself to fix because u could get screwed. By all means I disagree with child porno and i believe its sickening.
I don't know RiOtEr personally... but I don't think he is... he's trying to get a rise out of you cos he likes getting red dots... allegedly he hates us all too...that right RiOtEr ;)Quote:

however I think RiOtEr has raised a semi valid point....I don't expect this to be popular but bear with me.....
not that long ago (thinking of parts of early Victorian England here and parts of Europe) it was considered acceptable to have sex with boys and girls as young as 12 (possibly younger but I'm not sure). By todays morality this would be considered paedophilia, so has society really changed that much? Clearly some people like to have sex with younger boys/girls - I'm not saying it's right but just acknowledging that people like this do exist. Please note In this question I am not including some of the types who like to watch/have sex with girls/boys between the ages of 1- 7 (I know they exist) neither am I including those types who use torture (either mental or physical) on persons under the age of consent. These types have severe domination/inferiority complexes and are frequently mentally unstable.
With that proviso aside I'm wondering how far would someone define a paedophile?? Would anyone having sex with someone under the legal age of consent (even if the minor has given their consent - sometimes they do) be labelled as a paedophile??
In case your wondering why I'm asking this question... it's not because I spend much time thinking about it but here in the UK on Ch4 there was a documentary series recently about the age of consent and minors having sex so the subject is still fairly fresh in my mind. I'd just like to hear the opinions of folks round here

I don't think we should take those sites down. Merely find out the people running them and post their information for all to see.
Hmm.. Just try looking up "kiddie" or "child porn" in Kazaa or Google and see how many matches you get.Quote:
i dont think any of the sick pervs who like kiddie porn would just come right out and say it!
This thing really has to stop. How can anybody get horny while watching this? They should at least keep it to themselves.
The question is, ARE we going to stop child pornsites? There is already a law stating that we cant view or host child porn, but not many people makes an effort to enforce it. Theres Warez that can be easily found through google, people teaching each other how to make bombs (anarchy books), Movie/game piracy. People do illegal things everywhere, its just the people that dont give a crap.Quote:
should we stop stop child porn sites
well i think it is time that a child (i am 15 actually) input his voice into this conversation...
Don't you guys feel sorry for the kids that are forced into this stuff? Do you want it to continue happening? Hopefully, the answer is no. The main problem is that there are to many child porn websites out there and not all of them can be shut down. I believe we as a community should take action in some way. We are knowledgable when it comes to internet security and we must protect ourselves and help protect our childern from this stuff. I am not saying go and attack every child porn website, but what i would like to see happen is that if anyone ever comes accross one or finds a source of child porn that they report it immedietly to the FBI and ask that it be shut down. Rioter, most AO members see that you are a senior member here and respect you for holding that position. However, if you are going to support child porn even if you are just messing with us, i ask that you leave AO. Child porn is extremely sick and we need to do everything within our knowledge to help put an end to this type of pornography....thanks for listening to what a kid has to say on that matter and i hope you all take action :)
The answer to the question of getting rid of child porn is so bluntly obvious that it's almost a rhetorical question. Kiddie porn is awful awful awful awful. It has to stop. period.
omg! Anyone who looks at that trash deserves to be thrown in prison! It is disturbing to think that anyone would use a child like that! However, you can't break the law, because they are breaking the law... It makes you no better than them! What you can do, is get the url and give it to the authorities... I'm not sure if you are allowed to "spy" on the site's activites like "net traffic" but that would be helpful if ya could... then hand over all the info to the authorities... I'm not sure if thats legal, but I'm sure that reporting the url is a great service as it is
sex with a minor in the UK is not only regarded as paedophilia but also anyone under the age of consent is deemed to not really know what they are doing in that way so it is also statutory rape. This I think is unfair esp in N.Ireland the one place in the UK where the age of consnet is 17 not 16. I do not think ayone will say that a 16yr old does not know what sex is(!?)Quote:

But yet when I was younger (17) i had sex with my girlfriend at the time who was 16 - so I was commiting this offence.
Am not saying that the age of consent should be lowered but perhaps a new piece of legislation brought in to govern sex between people close to the same age. So say someone who is 17/18 sleeps with a 16yr old where both people are consenting - the 17/18yr old should not be convicted the same as a 40 something person who is doing so.
It is a difficult area as who is to say the 40 something person does not care for the 16yr old the same as the 17/18yr old does?? and then where would it stop? 20 isn't far from 16 should that be allowed to? and so on........it is a difficult thing to form any kind of legislation for.
but one thing for cetain the term of statutory rape is one that is very out-dated - with the current trend of teens having pre-marital sex earlier and earlier it is stupid to say a 16yr old does not know what it is.....also with the rise in teen pregnancys those mothers under the age of consent are having to leave the fathers name off the birth certificate due to fears about the ramifications - this is just plain silly IMHO

Hi Val,
I suppose it all has to do with the "age of puberty"...all I can say that unless you are a "royal" or something, under teen age has to be out?
I really wonder who is negging our little friend who started this thread?......hah! perhaps we have caught some of them out of the woodwork, so to speak?
Perhaps they would post why they negged?
Perhaps the moon is made of Swiss Cheese?
Cheers
Johnno
I havnt actually made any antipoint assignments on this thread, but i cant think of a few reasons.Quote:
1) It is posted under 'Newbie security questions'. This thread doesnt mention anything to do with network security, unless you wish to link it with child pornographers breaking into networks to distribute their filth.
2) The question is so rhetorical it begs asking "why post it?". Furthermore, it is just a question. Now, a question with "Personaly, i think.." added to it at least gives you something to think about, all this really presents is an excuse to say 'yes' (well, ignoring RiOtErs' post..)
3) Many people may assume that by 'stop' , the author means attack. Again, the post itself is so empty/bland, there is no evidence to support or contradict this - it is left up to the reader.
