The Situation:I am 18 My skin is white, I live in South Africa. There is no future for me. I have seen what has happend in Zimbabwe.
My fellow white South African boere(farmers) are being evicted from their farms to make place for "land reforment", so that someone(particularly black of skin) can get a new farm. My fellow black brother, with his newly accuired farm, doesn't have the infrastucture/money/pre-requests to set up/maintain a small working farm, nevermind profitable.
So, now that he has the land/farm, he decides to just build a roof for him,ah heck ,why not the whole family and friends, aswell as the family's friends,and their friend too...? Ok so now this 'squater-camp' provides housing for them. Nobody has the money to start some productive work...eventually this squater-camp starts too use up all trees in sight,big or small doesn't matter- erosion has found place.
Since there is now way of disposing waste except for throwing it in air and hoping for better days has cause pullution.
If there is a rivier near them, thy would wash all their cloths in the rivier, causing water pullution.(NOTE:Sometimes they do get up on their feet but mostly not,there is a book out on this named: "The Great South African Landreform Scandal")

Ok so its only EROSION, WATER,EARTH and AIR pullution and a ruined farm for ever( Isn't that what happend in ZImbabwe??).

So naturally the farm owner would not want to leave,what now?? No farm to ruine??

Nope,this is an offer that they 'can't' refuse.If they do refuse or if a covert-investigation turns up that they won't 'reform' their farm, they get KILLED.

U dont believe me??

The cherry on the cake is that this farm killings only started 1994( the MANDELA was released)
and as stated in the source above :Mbeki "deliberately censored " the stats.

So WE ARE DOING THE SAME AS ZIMBABWE..

As far as work is concerned, the muncipality/goverment has sued a returant for not employing "blacks in high positions"...
The goverment has said that its aims are to have a BEE(Black Economic Empowerment) of 100% and a 90% AA(Affirmative-Action) within the next 10 yrs.....

Now the consiquence of their actions has lead to a extremist organisation called the "BoereMag" wich means Farmers Force. As far as I know(wich aint much) this is a small organisation.

100 yrs ago, we had a visionary, he predicticted alot of things that really happend, and he had predictions that their would be a "race war" in the early 21th century in RSA, and it seems that his prophecy would come true, and that tempers are rising.

Now, I know situation in Americas and Europe is not the same, the situation for the Black and White person,respectfully, is diffrent than here.

Imagine this situation happening in your country, what would you do?
Would you fight(for a bit of right and a lot of wrongs) ?
Or dont you give a ****??

This thread is not to provoke anyone , rather to educate the situation that I am facing and alot of other South Africans.

There is alot more that I would like to tell all of you(like how they are destroying all our great statues) but I'm getting tired now.

I sympathise with you, having visited Zimbabwe in 2000 & 2001 as a white tourist. During my visits I did meet with a whole range of people including genuine subsistence farmers, Zanu PF officials, as well as white & black farmers.

At the time I made friends with a number of mainly black people who I still try to keep in touch with. One thing that struck me at the time was how despised Zanu PF was amongst those ordinary black workers who had a job working for a white person, most of whom were content with their position.

You have to view these things in context, and by African standards these people were paid a good wage, and looked after by their employers - for example I went to see a school that was paid for by their employer, and was left on my own to talk to the teachers and pupils.
One thing that small children find very difficult to do is to deliberately lie ...

What South Africa has done for the past 3 or 4 years is disgraceful, as it has actively supported the racist regime in Zimbabwe, by providing financial & political support to the corrupt ruling ZanuPF party. This has directly contributed to the fact that Zimbabwe's unemployment rate is about 75%, and is now totally dependant on international food aid.
All this from somewhere that was once the breadbasket of Africa, exporting food to neighbouring countries :mad:

Of course all the 'liberals' out there will say this is just pay back time for British colonialism.
Which is absurd, as you need to evaluate the reality on the ground.

As a postnote, I feel really sorry for one farmer (who happens to be white), who was telling me how his wife was raped by intruders because she didn't have enough money to give them.
Because the intruders were black and she was white the police refused to investigate, and her husband had to drive her to a private clinic to get anti HIV drugs.

That's the reality of what is happening in that part of the world ...

One thing that is really sad is that back in 2000 there was a very different attitude.
I remember when we broke down in a minibus, so the driver hitched a lift back to the nearest town to get some water. So there we were, three white tourists stranded in the middle of nowhere, but the occassional passing car stopped to ask us if we were OK.
Of course these were all black people, and they were completely genuine as well.
Today you'd expect to be held up and robbed.

As you have said, you have no future there. and i agree you really dont. if you fight the UN will step in and support the blacks. Not because their black but because the UN seems to be against private property (as long as its not theirs) so this is what they want. would i fight if i were you? definitly not. id leave and go to a place that did have a future for me and my family present or future. that IS your responsibility. this might not be the most stand up thing to do but it would definitly be the smartest. what would you be leaving behind? something thats going to be taken from you. take what you have while you still have it and get the hell out.

While intellectually I aggree with Tedob1, I also understand that it might be very hard or even impossible to just walk away.
What would I do in your situation? Damned if I know..... I'm not in that situation, and I am not faced with the ultimate questions you have to consider daily. I would like to be able to say I would do the right thing, but being a total outsider, there is no way I could really understand what the right thing even is.
There have been wrongs committed on both sides, and probably rights also......but we don't hear about most of them. Any two people, raised on opposit sides would havfe a different out look on the situation. Who is right? Probably niether, but I would not be able or willing to say, not having lived or experienced it for my self.

I too have seen similarities between Zimbabwe and South Africa. I would wager, that most Americans haven’t a clue what happened in Zimbabwe. While we were fighting our own wars in Vietnam and elsewhere, Rhodesia was fighting for independence from England and then from nationalism of Blacks as the government was toppled by force and renamed Zimbabwe. The result was very much the same although much more violent. People abandoned farms and houses they built. Sometimes they were burned out of them and killed. A hard-line approach in South Africa could produce the same result, I don’t see the UN stopping it.

I agree with RoadClosed, but I think this is missing the point a bit here.

It is what has happened in the last 4 years that is highly alarming.
The state in Zimbabwe (ZanuPF) has actively encouraged black mobs, supported by the police and the army to take over white owned farms.
I am certainly no racist, but one thing a lot of people find hard to accept is that racism does include the situation where a white minority is persecuted by a black majority, rather than the other way around.

Curiously, the US foreign policy on this is very robust, as it has serious economic sanctions in place with Zimbabwe, as it regards this as a regime that consistently violates human rights.
It even went as far as suggesting to the UN that food aid should only be given if armed UN observers were there to make sure it was distributed fairly. The reality on the ground is that you do not get food aid unless you are an ‘active‘ supporter of ZanuPF - i.e. you carry a membership card, and can recite their slogans.

Europe, on the other hand, has only very limited sanctions, which have only ever been broken by one member, namely France!! You might think that France was right to try and stop the war in Iraq, which in retrospect was probably valid. However, when it comes to their own self interest in Africa, they are quite prepared to break European law, which in this case meant inviting Mugabwe to Paris for a propaganda visit, whilst his wife went on a shopping trip (no doubt adding to her collection of shoes) .
Well some of you will know what I am getting at with that comment.

Zimbabwe has massive debts, due to corruption, and if it wasn’t for the support of South Africa it would completely collapse. South Africa seems to feel it is pay back time against 'colonialism', so because their neighbour is now ruled by a black regime, this must be all right, rather than taking an objective look at the corrupt, racist regime that they are supporting.

Yes food is distributed in mafia like fashion. The trucks are delivered and armed guards take control of it and deliver food to who they see fit. If you support freedom or don't condone the violence and corruption, you don't eat. In some cases around the world it isn't safe to even deliver the food on trucks, they are dropped from airplanes and the strong fight for their control of the food and use it as a tool to control the families beneath them.

I can still remember the day this bulsh*t hit me, I was reading a small local newspaper, which stated that all of our "evil apartheid-era" would be removed and "stored"(destroyed). This included all statues of whites,wich for me was a,not so unpredictavle, shock.
This important news was not said/broadcasted on tv or the radio...??
To tell you the truth most ppl dont even know about this, and if I tell them they cant believe it.

If we, a land with a majority of Christian ppl, were only halve as religious as the Muslems they all would be dead long ago.
What I mean is that ,in the early 20th century, the Boere was up against a fight that they could not win.
Only 500 Boere were to fight more than 4000 Zulu's(blacks).Since the all Boere of that time was Christian, they made a promise to God: IF they(the Boere) won, then on that da ,that exact date( 16 December), we would forever celebrate as a holy day. I can still remember when I was a young kid, we celebrated that day every year.Each and everyone was celebrating that date.
The 16 December was a day when we ,a nation with great honour(used to be), came together to strengthen ourselfs, to remind us of the great wonders that God has done for us.
Today, the 16th December is less holy than the day Mandela was released.
It was taken out beginning 1997, yet no one even bothered to speak out, nobody said "this is my God that you are dishounering!!", instead we felt sorry for them, we felt we had to give them a fair chance.

They use this chance to steal, murder and rape.
They use this chance to say: "Hey look my white ****er, we are the BOSS now, we can do with you whatever we want..."

Everyday I read in the papers about rapes, specific white targets... These ****ers dont care about gender, be it female, be it male, they are white so they shall be raped....

****EN SAD!!

Then some 5%(that is 5% of those that are found guilty) get sent to prison for 2yrs.
"Prison aut'a to do them could.." you say.
Guess again, the prisons are so corrupt that the wardens are 100000000 times crueller than the criminals inside... the last couple of days there has been atleast 3 cases here(in Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape) of jail rapes...
The wardens encourages this, these wardens makes money off of this.
So the rapist go to jail , to only be encouraged to rape more.....

To be honoust I cant wait for a war, I cant wait to get the filthy ****ers out of our land. When our country was under sanctions froms most all countries, we were thriving.
We had less police, less prisons and yet we maintained a near zero crime level.

We had 10 years of peace, with no international sanctions and yet, the much-awaited boom never came.

South Africa's economy, employment & crime rates were better when the world hated us and we had civil strife.

In the end, the only winners were the handful of the new Wealthy Black Super Elite...

Maybe if the world had left South Africa alone things would have been better...

Let there be no illusions where the ANC wants to take us. They support & give money to: Zimbabwe, Haiti & DRC (Zaire) who are ruled by Socialist Dictators who suppress even the blacks!

A non-racial South Africa would be ideal: if we except some ppl are white and some are black,
some deserve to have nothing other deserves everything, some are smarter some are not.

A non-racial South Africa under black rule:depressing all ,black and white, corruption, starvation...etc

A non-racial South Africa under white rule: depressing blacks, but also giving them their own land, so that they too have their freedom, wich usaully end in another sqautter-camp, but not a camp that is near anything that it could harm, like farmlands etc.

So, I believe that it all comes down to which side you are gonna choose, there would never ever be a perfect harmony between us, but atleast when whites are in power, everyone has food, and we have a stable strong economy and we proudly honour God...

I know that a lot of my friends regard Africa as somewhere we should just seal off, and let them get on with killing each other. Well, that is a bit extreme, but I can see their point as most of Africa does not even remotely conform to western standards.

The ridiculous thing in Zimbabwe is that for years the British government has said it is prepared to pay at least £10M (about 17M US $) to enable the government of Zimbabwe to sell off white owned farms to black people, as long as it is done in an ethical & lawful manner.

Mugabwe is of course still pursuing his campaign that it must be the UK's fault - after all if you are running a corrupt regime, where you are paying bribes to the army, it is a bit difficult to stop. And from what I hear, even if he wanted to stop the cycle of violence, it is too late.

At least the EU renewed its sanctions against Zimbabwe recently, despite French opposition.
I'm afraid that is all you can expect most of the EU to do.

People say violence is not a weapon, but the fact is you're gonna get attacked if you do not leave your farm without reinburcement. You and many others are getting screwed because the Brits (being good ****tards just like the Americans <GW>) have messed with something they had no right messing with. Just leave and don't get hurt. At least you're alive to start another farm eh?

The UK, like the rest of the EU, and any other democratic county has a right to its say on this. If you are prepared to accept corrupt, fixed elections then that is fine. But, coming from the US, I guess you expect dubious election results, don't you?

In my view the UK has no obligation whatsoever in international law to compensate Zimbabwe for anything that happened a long time ago. However, the UK has gone out of its way to offer payment at the going rate for white owned farms to be taken over, if that is a genuine policy that most people of Zimbabwe wish to persue.

However, when you have a corrupt dictator in power, who 20 years ago ordered the army to massacre members of an opposing (black) tribe, what do you expect?
