Why would you need to know, you wouldnt be planning on...oh I dont know...DoSing someone would you?? just a guess.
of course lol, but only my oldmachine. its like an old win 98.
Honest, lol
I suggest you try using the option ping /? this will give you all the different options
Usage: ping [-t] [-a] [-n count] [-l size] [-f] [-i TTL] [-v TOS]
[-r count] [-s count] [[-j host-list] | [-k host-list]]
[-w timeout] target_name
Options:
-t Ping the specified host until stopped.
To see statistics and continue - type Control-Break;
To stop - type Control-C.
-a Resolve addresses to hostnames.
-n count Number of echo requests to send.
-l size Send buffer size.
-f Set Don't Fragment flag in packet.
-i TTL Time To Live.
-v TOS Type Of Service.
-r count Record route for count hops.
-s count Timestamp for count hops.
-j host-list Loose source route along host-list.
-k host-list Strict source route along host-list.
-w timeout Timeout in milliseconds to wait for each reply.
my guess would be to go with the size one ;)
edit: My suggestion would be to not attempt to DoS attack anyone especially outside of your own network. and please go ahead and read through the FAQ's and try using mmm i dunno AO's search function or google, 2 helpful tools at your disposal or the classic ? help idea
Im DoSing myself really. The computer im DoSing is sitting right here next to me on my network.
Nah how about you, jerk.Quote:
Im not stupid, I know what it does
Yup, but not forever with -t, nor do I want to spam me saying I am a ********
THE ONLY time Ive EVER used a larger packet was to figure out a routers allowable MTU size...
since it was locking, and that seemed to be related...
dude, the answer is right in front of your face...
ping /?
The infamous ping of death.... that's an oldie....not sure it even works these days...
I would assume it probably would work on an old win98 box with no firewall or any kind of protection, plus its inside the network... hmm I think I need to try this on my network.. DoSing myself is one thing I don't think I've done yet... Guess I never thought it would be usefull.. Might be fun though...
i doubt this still works but:
ping -l 65510 your.host.ip.address
That doesn't work anymore anyways. I tried it a while back. I couldn't even get it to take down a win 95 box I had.
BTW, just so you know, (you know who you are) negging someone for negging you is not a good idea.
