No The Server service requires the default IPC$ administrative share. Therefore, you cannot delete that share...
u mean only if I pause the service server I can delete IPC$?

Kill the service 'server', as I am willing to bet you don't use it anyways unless you are on a local home network.

And Poo ment to say Do you have a Home network or the Computer you are trying to delete the sahae on a LAN .. Because this .share is used with temporary connections between clients and servers . It is primarily used for to remotely administer network servers. If you don't have a Home network You probably don't need and safely close it

I haven't understood what's ur mean, but I am sure u come from a uncultured place..
Did some quick research and found a better way to disable access to the share instead of deleting it (which may be haphazard, can't remember, been a while since I was in XP)

I know command: net share $ /delete,and I delete all except IPC$
I just don't know why I can't delete IPC$, because I remember I can when I use windows2000,
I guess there maybe some differences between XP and 2000,
or maybe I use the wrong command or method,
so I post here...so u understand?
