did you install the second hd to the same ide controller?
Was this a new HD?
Can you put a bootable floppy in and get to a command prompt?
Hang on while I close my eyes and start throwing darts at a dartboard until I hit the right combination of numbers that match the letters in your operating system, hardware config etc. etc. etc.
Ah, I have it now.... Take your elbow off the "9" key....
Wanna try to be more helpful with your question??????
it was an old hd, i just wanted something to install mandrake on, i dont know what was on it, i changed the pin to slave and hooked it up and booted the puter, i got a row of 99's i removed it and rebooted and the same row of 99's on xp pro, will make a floppy boot
Do you have the jumpers in the back of the HD configured right?
were your jumper settings both on CS or the primary on Master and secondary on Slave?
can you see both Hard Drives in BIOS? You may have corrupted your good disk which will lead you to reinstall both OS's. If you are going to do so, I would Dual Boot on one hard drive and use the other for backup storage you can use between both OSs.
1 was on primary and the added on slave
i got into recovery console, now i am stuck, its a foreign land to me
Did you make sure the jumpers on the back of your HD's are configured right? Did the new hd come with a install disk? Have you tried removing the second Hd and seeing if everything worked without it?
You're being very vague on what's going on.
Problem solved, i booted off xp cd went into recovery console, got stuck at "c prompt" and typed help which brought me to fixmbr which did it
i panicked and knew that the fastest response with the most knowledge would come from this site, Thanks all of u who responded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Is the problem solved, or did you just recover from it ?
Did you find out what caused the MBR to become corrupted?
okay here is what i did, too my embarrassment, i found all my cables and drives, i turned my puter upsode down and then attached my second hd to my cd rom drive, its fixed now, how embarrassing!!!!!
We all fuxor up every now and again. At least you posted what happened., alot of peeps don't, which can be most frustrating.
