Seen it? Refuse to see it? Planning to see it? Your thoughts as well..
I don't think I can be bothered going to see it - Moore is just too left wing and refuses to listen to other people's opinions. He's funny as a comedian doing stand-up, but not in my opinion someone who should be writing a "documentary".
I charge my personal time at $150/hour.....
I would spend almost 3 hours going to/watching/returning from the movie.
I firmly believe Moore is another ****wit that thinks that because he makes a lot of money in a "produce nothing" industry that he is important enough for the rest of us to listen to all of his "mental meanderings".
Thus, with the entrance fee, popcorn and coke, (no beer, WTF is that all about.... I'd have to be drunk to watch this stuff), my total cost is $465+.....
Yeah, right.....
I hate politics, so I don't plan on ever seeing this documentry. I doubt I would go to see it even if it was completely unbiased, and informative.
No! I have a problem with doing things after which I would not be able to live with myself or look at myself in the mirror the next morning. ;)
I heard an interesting bit on a talk radio show I listen to on the way to work each morning about Moore. They had a psychiatrist on who gave his professional analysis of Moore's personality. The analysis painted a pretty scary (and I thought accurate) profile of Moore's self-destructive and narcissistic tendencies and indicated he is a ticking bomb.
Anyway, even though I shudder at the thought of having to watch his drivel I'm sure Negative will buy the DVD....and in the end I'll see it. :(
I wouldnt mind going to see it just because it would be interesting. but I am not a fan of moore
thats cute.Quote:

Your time is only worth money when you are doing your job. it would do you good to watch this film, because then maybe you will have an educated opinion on the film. Rather than a "i refuse to watch it because im too important to waste my time and energy on something that has "wait.. swept the united states and is making box office history.." but you are too important for time wasters such as those. Hell we might as well all start sending you money for existing. Do you expect payment from your time spent on AntiOnline? And umm.. no one listened to any great thinker during their time... notice that? They even suffered persecution. But with people like you we are doomed to repeat history.
People crack me up that can't stand something Different! I am betting that you are just threatened by michael moore, and that is why you wont watch his film. It must suck being him, being right and no one believing you.
Threatened by Moore? Don't make me laugh. He's a hypocritical opportunist, no better than the politicians he makes a mockery of.Quote:

You seem to be confused as to the difference between fact and opinion. Moore thought the war in Iraq was wrong - that's his opinion and he's using this documentary to try and back it up. However, that doesn't make him "right" any more than it makes me wrong for believing the war was justified.Quote:

er0k; its not like moore popped on the scene out of nowhere. He's been around a long time and people 'gasp' might have formed their opionion of him outside of this one film of many. I personally own his other movies. I liked them even though they too are biased toward a common message. He's not just some reporter giving both sides. He makes movies for impact and specific goals.
Mathgirl and Negative, you crack me up. How to you make it each day? :) I am in the same situation BUT the roles are reversed. :) Peace.
It's like the judge that married us told me: "A man should always have the last word, as long as it is 'yes, baby'".Quote:

In this case, it'd be: "Yes, baby, we WILL WATCH THE MOVIE WHEN IT COMES OUT ON DVD!"
Now waita sec...Moore IS one of those people who can't stand anything different than what he thinks...he bashes anyone who doesn't think Moorish. And that's why I can't stand the guy. EGO!Quote:

Make sure you sedate her with her favorite desert. :) It's easy for me she (my loved one) has many. I even got her to watch an extreme right wing viewpoint once and she almost liked it. ;) In your case it's left and Moore is wayyy over thar'.Quote:

Bwahahahahahahahaha........ That's why 80+% of those responding here haven't seen it..... It just swept on past them all...... :rolleyes:Quote:
wait.. swept the united states and is making box office history.
You got that right sonny......Quote:

When you grow up and start earning a living and supporting yourself, (I don't mean doing chores for mommy and daddy), you will learn that your time is of value to you. When you do and people ask you to do things for them that you have no desire to do you will place a value on that time. My value is $150/hour. It's meant to deter those people who would take advantage of me and my skills..... The funny thing is.... I need to increase the price..... Too many people seem to be prepared to pay it.....Quote:

As for my time on AO. That's not something that someone else is asking me to do that I don't want to..... It might surprise you but I'm not silly enough to bill myself. See billing myself takes time, time is money and in this situation would compound the issue and place me in a never ending billing loop...... Silly boy......
Threatened.... Oh dear.... Threatened by a first year college dropout from my local university? That's it.... You got it..... Let's leave it at that shall we..... Trot along now, you have homework to do.....Quote:

Well honestly, the only reason he's popular is because he's the shock rocker of the political wolrd, the Marilyn Manson of the liberals if you will. His "documentaries" simply shock people, and liberals find that cool, so they hop on the bandwagon. Once you get past Moore's trendiness, you can see right through $$$$ him.
Bowling for Columbine: conservaties suck!
Farenheight 911: conservatives still suck!
It actually is making box office history... it's the first documentary (I'm sure someone will argue whether it is a documentary or not, but anyways) to bring in over $100 million. The last documentary to hold that record was Bowling for Columbine... Fahrenheit 9/11 already made five times as much :D
AngelicKnight: while the reasoning for making Bowling for Columbine probably was "conservatives suck", and while things were quoted out of their context, I still liked Bowling.
Moore's "quest" was to find out why there are so much gun-related killings in the US and while I don't think he totally nailed it down, he definitely brought some points to some people's attention. And that's what it's all about, imo (I'm referring to the K-mart incident, and the part where they give you a gun if you open a bank account  ).
I'll hand him that one. The bank thing was at first just plain funny, then sad. It's like they're screaming "Rob me! Please!"Quote:
and the part where they give you a gun if you open a bank account
What is Moores "quest" in F. 9/11?
Ensure Bush isn't re-elected?
Point out conspiracy theories?
Prove the Saudi's rule us all?
Prove 9/11 could have been prevented?
What is it?
Funny you should mention M. Manson AngelicKnight, he gave a good interview in "Bowling For Columbine" As for this movie breaking records, I guess Moore is even more richer than the republicans he was already bashing. lol. I find it Ironic considering the substance of his earlier movies before Columine and his quest to discover the reason why guns are so prevelent in violence here. I think he hit is on the head actually. The media's glorification of a nightly barrage of violence in real time. Perhaps? And who ownes the media, or should I say who controls it? The Micheal Moore's of Hollywood. More irony I suppose?
I went to see it, thought it was great. Now I oughta move out of Cosmos before the AntiOnline
Republican Party groupies come-a huntin' me ;)
He's expressing a liberal opinoin! My fellow AO Republicans, let us unite and oppress him! ;)
Angelic:
Naaah..... He's just another Mick stirring the pot and trying to start a fight..... It's their only viable export.... Well... that and beer..... ;)
Yea but how many other documentaries get ALL of Hollyweird gossiping about them, promotingthem without even having seen them? I'll tell you, none. Those hollywood *****tards stick together. What a worthless bunch of hypocrites. And If I hear of another "entertainer" lecturing their audience before a show I'm gonna puke......on them.Quote:

Moore is a halfwit if there ever was one. He voted for Nader in the last election, therby taking votes from the Democrat's candidate just so he could make this film. (Now keep in mind he's all about the Dems this election). You know he always loves those conspiracy theories.
BTW- Just so you can't paint me a Bush lover. My opinion of "Dick" Kerry is even less.
A wiseman once said "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know."
I'll make one point, why do people look from objectivity from say Moore when your party more or less has a TV station i.e. Fox dedicated to saying how great your party is?
;)

[/qoute]
You're wrong there brother...FOX is not even close to being as far right as some of the other major networks which are clearly left wing.
Fox is mainly independed but it does swing right in some issues. Now, arguing that one network is conservative is really farfetched from a party which has 4-5 other networks licking their grindle.
I dont even think there is such a thing as left wing in the U.S. ;)
No one has asked me but that never stopped me before. hehehe. ALL news agency have agendas. They ALL get paid by advertisers, or somebody, somebody writes them checks. They want certain things said, certain opinions expressed, yada yada yada. If you're naive enough to think that ANY news agency is objective, whether it's a U.S., U.K., middle eastern, or from wherever, then I've got some beach front property in Arkansas to sell you. ;)
Politics is a big barrel of bullshit. So any time you hear someone say "politics" just think they are saying "big barrel of bullshit". That'll put it in perspective for you.
Like "political agenda" - "big barrel of bullshit agenda". See? It works everytime.
P.S. If none of that made any sense, then good. Cause that means you're too stupid to play in a "big barrel of bullshit".
Quiet yank.
No wait!!! I'm thinking up a witty rejoinder for that comment....almost go it....almost there......Quote:
*fart*
Now I know I didn't dignify that comment with a response did I? hehehe, naw.
Dude, I'm gonna major in Political Science now. For sure. Why? Because I can same "I'm majoring in Big Barrell Of Bull ****, what about you?" then after college I can put on my applications "Master in Big Barrell of Bull ****, Graduated Top of Class". That would be sooo cool. Kind of. Probably couldn't even get McDonalds to hire me with that app, but that's not the point.
To watch this fictional based documentary is synonymous with burning our flag.Quote:

Don't Tread On Me
I don't know why he is up kerry's a$$ he cut the Missile Defense Programs
"There's no bigger task than protecting the homeland of our country."
"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail."
"Saddam Hussein is a homicidal dictator who is addicted to weapons of mass destruction."
"The terrorists and their supporters declared war on the United States - and war is what they got."
"I will defend america any chance I get."
"The United States of America will never be intimidated by thugs and assassins. The killers will fail, and the Iraqi people will live in freedom."
"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive."
