:p
I got A 90% but at least I was wrong on the side of caution.
I saw a usps.com in one of the links and thought that it should be usps.gov
You got 10 out of 10 correct, or 100 %
w00t! :D
I got a 80% score because of damned e-bay
well i got 90%, got the earthlink one wrong i said it was legit when it wasnt .. i hope the fraudsters dont send me a fraudulent email from earthlink :\
100% baby! Go me! :D
Eh, 80%. Unfortunately I don't use any of the two services I got wrong, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Don't feel bad Korp ;) I don't use e-bay anyway's and don't plan to.
Wow, I'm actually ahead of other senior members. Not that's a FIRST! Red-letter day! Score one for the little guy! :D
//edit -- speaking of winning, I finally had to restart my computer the other day Spyd. ;)
100% The ones that warn you about fraud are silly.
As I noticed ;) Bow to your master, little man :DQuote:

!00% Too easy. Too obviious, yet realistic.
Hi guys and gals,
Can I join the 100% club?
The one where I hesitated was the Earthlink link ... but I made the right choice anyway.
As has been said before, when in doubt, choose the side of caution.
Cheers,
BrainStop
Hey Hey,
That's a rather cool little test.... Makes people think if nothing else... That's the kinda thing that should be forwarded around instead of all those stupid little do you know me tests and fill out my survey pieces of crap...
Anyways I got 100%...
Peace,
HT
100%. And I think I've received a few of those. :)
Good test........
100%.... I'm so smart!!!!!!
Some you had to pay attention to.
Post some more things I can do while I should be working!!!!
Spyd and I have been competing on who can keep their system running the longest without a reboot. So far, I'm winning. :DQuote:

What?! I remember you complaining about having to reboot before me...Trickery, trickery I tell ya! Don't make me take away your webslingers!
hey i got 80% wish i woulda done a lil better.... but eh?
Angelic: I did hafta reboot. So I did, and I've been on ever since. You rebooted, but musta signed on then off again because currently you're at 1 Day 17 Hour's 2 minute's. I've been on much longer than that, since my last reboot which was when I told you I had to. Anyway's, let's try not to get off-topic here ;)
Curses! So what, that puts us 1-to-1 now, right? ;)
Ok, back on topic...
The thing to watch for on these are addresses included in the e-mails for you to click to "confirm" or enter your information. That can mean that the address is spoofed and belongs to the phisher. Ligit e-mails will not require you to go to a page via an e-mail link and re-enter your info.
I rarely ever worry about these type of thing's because spam isn't much an issue with me. I have an account that I use to signup for thing's with and that will recieve the amount of spam I get but my personal account recieve's little-to-no spam at all.
I'll whip both your asses.Quote:

20 days on both Slackware boxes, and not to forget my screen shots from my 66 day uptime. Bring it!
Horsey, this was new to me, I don't use banks, or E-bay much either, so it was hard to tell with E-mail addys alone. I haven't relied on a bank since 6th grade when I sat in detention learning about how it was during the big depression. Haven't trusted one with cash since.
I don't even use credit cards, or ATM machines. I'm a cash kinda guy.
Same here, but it's not always that easy.
For instance, during college I used my university e-mail as my primary e-mail, then did all my signing up for stuff with a hotmail account as a spam-decoy. It worked well for a long time, as my UALR account rarely ever got hit. However, university security isn't what it should be anymore, and the entire university mail system was compromised. Since then, my UALR account gets HAMMERED with spam daily, even with a server-side spam filter running on their end and Thunderbird's spam filter on my end.
Since then, I've graduated and don't rely on that address anymore; I only keep it as a backup (until the university figures out I'm still using it, which knowing them could be years!). I now use the webmaster address for the website I run, which isn't listed anywhere, except on the website, which doesn't get much traffic since it's only a local website and not on any search engines. That one's mostly spam free, but even on occassion it gets hit (and I'm baffled how they're finding me). For example, a while back I got a spoofed spam from sender "[email protected]", which is interesting because I AM the webmaster of bryantcivitan.org, and there is no "webmaster@" address! It was one of those "you're account is about to expire" e-mails, which I found hillarious since I'm the one in charge of e-mail accounts. :)
Anyway, eventually the spammers will find you...
//edit -- Gore, we're both on Windows, so there's no way I can compete with that! When I get my Linux box up and running though, you're going DOWN. :D
Heh, glad to see others are enjoying this little quiz. You can score 100% on this if you apply the basics of how companies have structured their current e-mail policies.
LOL @ 100% club. W00t! I must be 1337.
:)
The same with me. Nor do I make any online purchases or any of that stuff the questionaire had. But hey, still good.Quote:

I beg to differ.Quote:

EDIT: And yes, we are both on Window's (atleast the boxes we're having the competition with, I'm using my Win98 baby). However my OpenBSD child has been up for age's. Matter of fact, it's been up 51 Day's 6 Hour's 28 Minute's and the only reason it ever "failed" me was because of a blackout. So bah! I'll take you anyday gore ;)
Well, to clarify, the spammers in mass may never find you, but one or two will eventually slip in. I've never had an account escape spam-free forever, no matter how secretive I've been. If you have, I wanna know your secret!
It depend's what you mean spam-free. Chance's are, you'll ALWAYS get update's, etc from your mail provider. Aside from that, I can have a spam-free account extremely easily.Quote:

I didn't read the mails and just clicked fraud everywhere, me score is 7 out of 10
Smooth plan ;)Quote:

100%
Got board reading the emails so just clicked fraud from about the half way mark, still got 90%
Well I missed two, erred on the side of caution. Bet it was rigged though because we all know that there's no thieves out there!
cheers
I got 80%, one on a bank one, and I don't use a bank, and one on a paypal one, which I also don't use since I cannot legally have a credit card.
I just recently retired a FreeBSD, an old 486 DX2/66. 2 years 5 months 22 days. One of the saddest days of my computing career. The thing just had to go, the fans were buzzing, 5th monitor, ugh, it was time. If you have to know it was a gateway box and mail server. One of the best boxes.Quote:

bah, I missed the earthlink one and the citibank one.
What's your email address?Quote:

Hush you. The only reason I ever shut down or reboot is when I'm worried about it overheating. Which your box with that processor would probably NOT do. You should have grabbed a screen shot. Your box had been up longer than I've been using Linux.
