I put this in here because every thread about The Ramones seems to end up here anyway. To be honest the way I feel right now I don't give a ****.

Saw it this morning on CNN :(
All there's left now is Tommy, Richie, Marky (all drummers...) and CJ...
It blows. Motley Crew still has everyone in the band alive, and Michael Jackson is still running around, but the Ramones are dying :(
This has me pretty upset. The Ramones are one of the few bands on Earth to have influenced as many people as they have, including me.
The Misfits are good friends with them, and the Drummer plays with them as part of the band now. I'm sure they will have a tribute somehow soon.
Its sad to see the Ramones slowly fade away, but honestly with the lifestyle the yled it was well expected. Gore take this as a wakeup call, Punk is living in the glory of the past, we can talk about the Ramones or Sub-Humans or whoever bt the fact is not much new and interesting has come from punk into mainstream (except for that poppunk crap, greenday and what not)....perhaps insted of lamenting the past those of you young enough to do it ought to shake the pillers of the establishment (Rock/entertainment/society/whatever) again....perhaps this time we won't let ****wits like the Sex Pistoles derail the revolution before it begins with there greed
I won't change the life style, I enjoy it too much. There is still hope. NOFX haven't given up, The Misfits are still here, all of them, Danzig is still around. Hell even Iggy Pop is still around. Anti-Flag, Leftover Crack, INDK, there are still new bands that don't suck :)
None of it needs to be in the main stream, it was never intended to be there. Even though The Misfits Prject 1950 album is fairly mainstream, because it's AWESOME and everyone knows it ;)
I'll shake the pillars, the walls, the censors, and the World. Anyone who has ever heard me play, or read lyrics I've written knows, I'm taking over.
NP: Lords of Acid - Lords of Acid VS Detroit. I just got this. Very good album, and has a lot to do with Punk, as all of the people in LOA love punk. Negative and me have a great musical common interest.
RIP, and live forever Ramones.
It's awesome gore and everyone knows it ? I don't even know who the misfits are lol ....
/me looking on google now
*Stands in the corner and faces the wall*
I was going to jump in and defend punk but Gore said it. Punk lives on, LOA is good **** and so are some local bands like The Mansfields who I have touted here before. Probably depends on your geo-location too as to the local exposure. **** yeah everyone like the Mansfield, you don't run into ANYONE who says they suck. :D
Boy, are you people gonna be pissed off and depressed when I slide off this mortal coil..... :D
Yeah It'll End in Tears. ;)
Tiger, you remind me of one of those old ass Republicans who thinks everything sucks, and likes to say "Well that's the way the World works" when it doesn't unless you let it. Which reminds me, I now am working two jobs, and going to college full time. Last time you and me went at it you said how I don't do things that really mean anything.
I don't think I have to worry about you sliding off anything, as that "coil" seems to be firmly screwed into your ass. ;)
So how is stuff in the Big D ? The Weather has been beautiful, but today it's getting a little to warm for my taste.
Old assed..... YepQuote:

Republican.... Not allowed to vote.... But I wouldn't be voting for nader or kerry....
The world works in ways individuals can't change.... Unless they have the power.... You and I will never have that power.
Those "things" mean something to you..... You can never expect them to mean anything to everyone or we would all be zombies.... ;)
Glad to hear you are making some cash and working on studies too.... Good on yer... Thought you had been a tad quiet here recently.....
As to the weather.... It's been perfect English summer weather.... great for sleeping, great for working, not too hot not, too cold.... But it's always perfect weather for beer..... :D
As to coils and asses..... The day I meet anyone that can put anything up my ass I will happily slide down the coil...... :p
THere was an album, It'll End in Tears by a project called Mortal Coil. Their music is dark and frankly depressing. Guess I read too much into that. :D I was a stoned and dreamed the entire thing up????
common guys, look at the groups gore named most of them are going to be shiped off to old folks homes in a few years, the rest are regional bands, dammit its time to start kicking down some doors. Punk was about shakeing up a stae culture (both in society and in rock itself) its not good that punk itself is getting stale
I prefer emo anyway. :D
punk is a music form, there are bands shaking up the state in other forms. Heck they are making their own, but its not getting the attention "punk" did. Let me find a few off the top of my head.... Rage Against the Machine, Rorschach Test, KMFDM, ICE-T and a couple more that I won't mention since you'll think I am psyco. Here is a line from Rorschach test one of my favorites ....
Salute the men in blue who protect your life and mine
Night stick swinging closet sadomasochistic swine
Where were you on the day our childhood died
Were you polishing your guns?
Looks like you weren't the only ones
You say you come in peace
We say peace minus one
Peace minus one
We say make war, **** love
A salute to the fallen youth who have died on the cross of our neglect
Programmed and desensitized to kill all the reject
And the news shows the clip a thousand times
And still has the balls to ask the question why
To serve and to protect
you say you come in peace
Destroy our self respect
we say peace minus one
To rape and to degrade
peace minus one
Run from the war you've made
We say make war **** love
We say peace minus one
Fourteen year olds have guns
They say make war **** love
Damm good bands all, but rage is dead and gone, KMFDM is irelivent now, and ICE-T is too busy playing a cop on TV. Last I heard Rorschach Test was still alaive and kicking but I haven't heard from them for a bit......I is good to see that the ex lead of Rage is back doing solo stuff at least, check out the tribute to f9/11 cd.....hes working with Reznor..now that is a trip.
zach de la rocha lead singer of rage, you speaking of him?
or tom morello, the lead guitarist. tom morello would be more likely as he has a degree in poli sci from harvard :)
The chaps from Rage formed another band it's very good. **** what is the name.... they teamed up with the ex Soundgarden singer and formed... AudioSlave, thats it. Zach wanted to go solo and anounced an album I haven't seen or heard yet. I only really like a couple of Rage tunes. Guerilla Radio gets a place on my CD player though... KMFDM released a decent project not too long ago, last year? They have some more in them.
Reznor is due to release something this year or next.
\\EDIT How WTF is it that ICE T plays a cop after the VERY controversial, and decent album, "Cop Killer"???? That's like Metallica singing Master Of Puppets and Scorched and **** like that then SUING Napster for their contribution to anarchy in the form of P2P. Crazy.
zach de la rocha was they guy, coudn't rember his name, i guess his solo album is comeing out, but he released a song from it on the tribute to farinhite 9/11 cd. His album is being produced by trent.
Yea but what everybody fails to realize without bands like the ramones and the misfits (fiend for life) then all theese other bands might have never became anything. The older punk bands opened the door for ALOT of what we hear today. Even Metallica, who suck now but were freakin huge, say that their biggest influence was the misfits. Punk isnt dead. It never will be as long as there are people around who it still influences. Im not a freaky looking druggie like gore but i can still say punk has affected my life. Johhny aint dead joey aint dead. they just arent here anymore. But as long as they are remembered for thier contribution they will allways live.
Yeah Zombie, I think anyone who likes music knows where the real deal is and was. :) Hell even U2 loved the Ramones and took some of their political and social views from them. They aren't punk but their messages are told in another medium. Heck I would rank U2 into their own style category. According to Bono on the Elevation DVD, Joey's last song he ever heard was "In a little while" and was something he (bono) will hold dear forever. Because of that some hear it as a gosbel semi religious tune, a far cry from its original intention.
