Hotmail has been being very wierd lately. Ive been getting emails from my mom that she sent like a week ago. Like today i got one that she sent on the 20th then one she sent on the 19th. I was wondering if anyone else was haveing this problem or might know what the problem could be. The other wierd thing is she gets the emails from me in normal time. But i get em delayed. Any ideas?

I haven't had any problems with them lately.
where is she sending her emails from .. if it is a private work one it could be configured in such a way the mail router only releases them every five days .. .mind you noone would have it set like that normally so it is probably something else :)

and by the way iam not having any problems with Hotmail . it works just as fine
She is sending them from a library in vegas. Both my parents live in vegas...she seems to be getting the emails fine though so thats why its wierd.
as above mentioned may the library router has been configured in such a way that it sends the mail once in every 5days or so , check out the daye, is she using outlook or is it just plain Webmail .Quote:

check the dates on the mail and tru to confirm them with you parents, if they do differ then it must be as firewall said

Yea but the thing is for a while they were sending in real time and comeing to me like 5 sec after they sent them.
i dont know if this is related. or whether attached files has anything to do with it.
but i tried recieving an email from a friend with a word doc attached <50kb or so. so it shouldnt have slowed down transfer time. but i didnt recieve that email for a long while, and it came hours later. hotmail webmail was used for both sending and receiving. that was about 3 days ago. however, i havent noticed any problems apart from that one incident.

Yea all she ever sends is emails no attachment. they are usually no more than 2kb.
I haven't been having any of these problems but, have you tried contacting Hotmail?

The problem is quite unique. Why don't u try creating a new account and see if the problem persists.
I think this should help.
If discarding an old account is impossible then try it out from a different computer.
Well the problem isn't very unique as far as I know.
My mom got an email from my sister 3 days after it had been sent yesteday.
In my entire class stuff like this has been poping up. We had a new schedual mailed around and one person got it 3 day's later(resulting in him being late in the first lesson for 2 day's)
The only thing all these and a few other incidents had in common was that there were atachments in the e-mails
Perhaps big brother or big Bill is reading all of you mom's mail before it gets sent. With those public computers you'll never know what your getting yourself into
Maby it is because you computer is not as good as mine....lol( i think they are dam close to the same? lol ;)
well yah my ACC was doing it to so i just got some GMail as i am guessing you did the same? lol
well yupp maby it is because your recipiant's computer that she is e mailing you from is running really bad and loads to the msn/hotmail server and it takes a few days to do so?
not fully sure but that is my best guess.
Bleh your computer better than mine? LOL Impossable Mine is way better. Plus i got the uber fast T3 connectiong. And those 3.2ghz Dual Xeon processors....Lol and then I woke up. But yea I must have drifted off for a sec there.

hey hey hey they all got it wrong! do u have a mailbox with a storage space of mere 2MB if yes there's the problem! coz an email account with small space often gets out of its space and it does not except anymore until some of the mails are deleted! so the only solution is to keep some space empty in ther account always
Nope its not full. Still got way over 1mb left.

I would say u either change to other services in the web today,
Yahoo Or Excite.
I hate Gmail.
No Way...Gmail is way better than yahoo.
