AntiVir's Updates appear, (zero response per an Ethereal capture), unavailable and Antivir currently does not recognize the later versions of some viruses, (Specifically Bagle late variants).
Anyone have any clue why the site is down?

It's working just fine right now. (Slower than a herd of turtles in a sand storm, but that is nothing new. )
EDIT: Ok, it did die halfway through the update :(
Funny,
Got problems with PC-Cillin as well?
cheers
After 5 minutes or so it gives me the "There is an update" screen. When I click to D/L it's dead. Not good for people who think they are protected by AntiVir.
The most recent definitions can be downloaded here though: http://www.hbedv.com/en/ (new definitions today)
Groove: Too late..... If I can't trust the automatic updates then it goes.... I recommended this to all my users for home computer protection. Right now they are all unprotected from known threats.... I just sent a message to them all rescinding the recommendation and replacing it with one for AVG.... Let's see how long that one hold up.... ;) It's fast though....
lol..I was just going to edit my post to say :Of course that doesn't fix the autoupdate problem " :P
It looks like their whole site is having problems Tiger, I can get to the main page, but everything under that times out on me.
DoS perhaps ??
Cheers:
I have been having problems with AVG sending me the reg code, anyone else experience this? I have been reccomending avast! AV.
AE: It cames through just after the link to the d/l for me in a separate email.
I tried it 3 times with 3 different e-mail addys and still never got the codes. I am using Mozilla Firefox as my browser, and Thunderbird for my POP e-mail, the other two addys were gmail and hotmail. Maybe they just don't want my recomendations anymore :P
<edit> I even sent them e-mail to their tech support and got no answer back from them either.</edit>
It has been working fine for me....you're probably just holding your mouth the wrong way when you click the link. ;)Quote:

OK Guys, time for a good laugh at Johnno's expense :o
I run WinSonar 2003. When you start your browser it detects this and pops up a little message........without thinking about it too much I normally say "yes".............
Then AV and other products won't update because WinSonar is intercepting & killing new background processes! (unfortunately it does not tell you when it does it)
ooops!
:D
LOL, now that's hilarious.Quote:

I have also been recomending avast!, it has never let me down.
Well... Since I'm on the laptop I thought, I'll try again..... It's squirrely, starts, stops, restarts, stops.....
Methinks my decision was good.... It's about to be uninstalled.... I'll give Avast a try.... ;)
Good, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I admit, it scans a little to slow, but it does a good job.
aeallison, I have had the same type of problem with AVG, can't get the d/l e-mail. I think I narrowed it down to the SPAM filters at my ISP. Since the info is auto generated, maybe?
Somebody throw me a bone here.....
funny when xp sp2 came out, antivir was mentioned by microsoft as one of the few anti-virus programs that were actually compatible. perhaps its all the traffic that makes the site slow now. perhaps also someone targetet h+b.
i'm having problems downloading any updates. strange enough, the download of the complete program works fine, perhaps you can get around the updates for a while, just download the complete thing regularly.
