Looks interesting...
I still don't get this "Moore and his lies" thing, though. Fahrenheit 9/11 consists of:
- Footage. Footage doesn't lie. Of course, it can be placed in a different context...
- Statements gathered from various news sources. Every single one of those statements has been backed up by Moore. His website contains a list of every single statement made in the movie, complete with where he got it. I still haven't seen anyone disproof any of those statements.
- Personal comments. These are very limited in Fahrenheit 9/11 and of course show some favoritism. But "lies"? I don't think so...
And that's about it :)
Its no use trying to convert Cybr1d Negative. He is too much of a Fox news Bush lover. ;)Quote:

I do believe that possibly some of the facts in Farenhiet 911 might be distorted. It happens a lot in politics or political movies. Hell, the movie in Cybrids sig is just a bunch of scenes of John Kerry put together to show him in the worst possible way. (It leaves out most of his explanation of what he was saying) I do believe that you need to see the movie to diss it. Have you watched Fahrenheit 9/11 Cybr1d?
I just watched the trailer and its pure propaganda!
I am interested in seeing this for an alternate point of view, but I dont know how much I get out of it. We will see I suppose.
Its too bad thought that this is only playing in two theatres up in Northern Cali on 2 dates. (San Fran and Sacramento)
CXG > but that's the problem: I don't think any of the facts are distorted - they're backed up more than anything I've ever seen. The way he visualizes it may be distorted, but not the statements made. Moore's site contains almost every single line said in that movie (here). If Moore's movie is such a lie, it should be easy to pick out any statement you want and disproof it. I've never seen anyone do it, though. The only criticism I hear is about how he presents the facts (in particular: the images he uses to "illustrate" the facts). I'm not discussing that - it's a movie...
Neg: Ill check out the url. I just saw Fareinheit 911 a couple of days ago for the first time. I have to say that I thought it was a great movie. I had heard from different sources that some of the numbers in the movie were higher than the actuals... I will have to check it out.Quote:

I was actually cheering for Gore during the 2000 election...go figure.
Edit: I hate FOx when they show baseball games....their guys absolutely hate the red sox so **** em. I dont love Fox...but I'm not as closed minded as some to not watch it. I watch both the CNN and FOX....
I'd say it's pretty safe to categorize a documentary as a movie, no?Quote:
Movie (n.) A contiguous series of video frames (and optionally synchronized audio) that are displayed fast enough to provide the illusion of motion. A frame rate of 30 frames per second is a typical target for a movie.
Have you seen it, Cybr1d?
So you didnt answer my question Cybr1d. Have you seen Farenhiet 911?
Edit: Neg beat me to it.
Seen most of it, downloaded a low quality one....but I refuse to have my money go to a fat discusting pig like Moore...I'll probably steal one when I get a chance...unless one of you wants to mail it to me :D
I'll keep my copy :)
I could get you a transcript, maybe... will that be enough to help you point out the "lies"?
Wow Cybr1d watch the hate! ;)Quote:

Why does everyone bag on Michael Moore by calling him fat? Thats like me saying that I hate Bush because he is ugly. I can understand you not wanting to support the guy, but why bag on his weight?
And Cybr1d: If you want to watch it I will be buying the DVD soon. So I could lend it to you if you promise not to burn/break the dvd. ;)
Lending that DVD to Cybr1d and expecting him not to break or burn it is like sending private England an Iraqi and expecting her not to take nudies of him.
LOL. ;) Well if he does, then he will be rocketed a lot on the AO Clan server since I can take away his immunity. ;)Quote:

But he is fat...I'm simply emphasizing the fact that he is obese...i'm sure he's well aware of that himself. The Discusting Pig part is simply a matter of opinion. Calling him a discusting pig doesn't quite cut it, so his weight gets added to the mix ;)Quote:

She just had her baby. Somehow, she doesn't strike me as the maternal type. -_-Quote:

OMFG I just got that....you were talking about THAT Private England...AHAHAHHAHAH I always thought you were talking about Some dude in England receiving an Iraqi in the mail.....I just figured you were drunk and were trying to make a joke...oh well :D
facts are not just facts they have more than one side and an order of occurance that gives them meaning. the side moore is taking is not the side of the US. michael moore hates america. anyone can pick and choose facts, take them out of context and colour them with their own preception to have them say what ever they want. ive seen to many of his so called facts disproven. such as... on the date bush was 'vacationing in camp david' it turns out that there was a meeting with tony blair going on there.
"there i was trying to earn an honest days living. had my table set up on the steps of the temple, buisness was going well then along comes this crazy jew and starts kicking over all the tables and ranting like a mad man. do you know what what it cost me to get that space and the waiting list i had to endoure. i lost a bundle because of him. they should crucify that son of a gun."
See... this is exactly why people who didn't see the movie shouldn't be commenting on it:Quote:

- Camp David is mentioned once and only once in the movie (just to make sure we're talking about the same scene, you know  )
Voice-over: "The first time I met him, he had some good advice for me"
Footage - Michael Moore to Bush: "Governor Bush, it's Michael Moore."
Same footage - Bush to Moore: "Behave yourself, will you? Go find real work."
End footage
Voice-over: "And work was something he knew a lot about."
Footage - Bush: 'Anybody want some grits?" answered by a "Yeah".
Footage of Bush walking his dog, yachting and being a cowboy - voice-over by Moore: "Relaxing at Camp David. Yachting off Kennebunkport. Or being a cowboy on the ranch in Texas."
The next footage shows a date (August 25, 2001) and has Moore's voice-over:"George Bush spent the rest of August at the ranch, where life was less complicated." Then Bush telling a story about his dog chasing armadillo's. Moore's voice-over: "It was a summer to remember. And when it was over, he left Texas for his second-favorite place". Footage shown, Bush shaking his brother's hand in Cali on September 10, 2001.
So where is that "date where Bush was relaxing at Camp David"? Moore didn't use the word vacationing, he didn't put a date on Bush being at Camp David... it was somewhere between before Bush got elected and the end of August, 2001... that's all I can derive from the movie... but you got to pin an exact date on Bush being at Camp David by watching the movie?
