Encryption Programs
Hi all
I've recently has a look on the net for encryption programs and there's a huge variety out there and I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of security. My question is does anyone know of any good freeware encryption programs or are the ones available for free basically useless?
Thanks in advance for the info.

A good Encryption program is PGP www.pgpi.com down load pgp8.0 it is the newest and you don’t have to copy things and past them and crap like that to encrypt or decrypt them all you have to do is go to current window and then click encrypt and it will do it for you.

I suggest using Ncrypt http://ncrypt.sourceforge.net
It is available for both windows and *nix and it is very easy to use. It also has a good file wiper that allows you to securely delete files.

You could also give Axcrypt a http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/
It's pretty nice AES encryption with 128 bit keys add in nice with explorer

You can use OpenSSL's libcrypto API to code your own encryption programs too.

I personally prefer PGP 8.1. I used the commercial version (paid for it). THe most useful component has to be the PGPDisk.. I've created a 6gb PGP Disk using a 4096 bit keylength.

For storing password, I use Password Safe http://sourceforge.net/projects/passwordsafe/ which is nice and easy to use.

In my opinion, I think pgp 8.1 is the best because it's free for non-commercial use and contains mail plugins and a file shreddar so no one can recover the file that you shredded. All that for free, what can be better :).
