Does *anyone* have a Gmail invite. I've been trying to get one and choose not to buy one. It would be greatly appreciated, and I will give away all (except one) of my invites on AO.

who would be stoopid enough to pay for an invite... its a bit like replying to spam
gmail is selling invites?....since when.....or is this a black market type deal
hex - definitely black market. they range from $.99 to $60 on ebay.
Also, how do you get codes? Does google just email them to gmail users randomly? i know that some sites have contests cuz people donate codes and such...but how do you get so many?

I have a gmail account but, to my knowledge i have no invites to give out! is there a reason for this? thanx bye.
Tex,
They will send you loads of invites if you transfer a lot of mail ;)
They intend to charge later on I suspect, so people with lots of content are potentially good customers, who obviously know others?
Obviously that is a scurrilous lie that I must have picked up from the gutter press somewhere?
well i don't think so so far i used gmail like noother mail i ve ever used , attaching sending reciving and all , i ve almost used 250 mb and i only got 6 invites ( which are all out ) no more invites for me :-(
ok thanx for the help.
I figured I'd give you all an evaluation of that GmailFS program.
Evaluation: Good.
Need I say more? No. But I will. You see this thing works quite nicely. What it does is log you in, and when you copy something to the server, it composes an email with the file attached. So the file must be under 10MB, but it's still really nice to have. Every email sent from GmailFS sets the subject as GMailFS. So you set up filters in Gmail to automatically archive the emails, and mark them with a label if you wish. The only complaint I have is the inability to map the space as a drive. In 'My Computer', it shows up under 'Other Items.'

This may well just be the stupidist thing ive heard todday. Its a freakin mail server not your own persoanl FTP account. Next thing you know you'll want ssh and pine to read your email with. Its jackasses that think like you that **** up every free service that comes along. </rant>Quote:
