Firefox get's high praise from the Wall Street Journal

Nice article over at The Wall Street Journal touting the benefits of Firefox (and some other non-IE browsers).

FireFox is amazing... and i have used it for 3 years and no signs of browser hijacking

I've used it for about a year and a half and I love it. Tabbed Browsing, No pop-up's, Download Control.. so many great features about it. Not to mention I've successfully recommended it to 14 people! :)

lol its great.... i like it cuz it dont allow anything unless you download a plug-in fer it... like some flash dont work, like the flash banners, alot of the java, just alot of scripts, and you have like such a user-friendly interface.. you know like Java on or off.... flash on or off... its easy to configure....

For those interested in blocking flash advertisements, banner and image advertisements, look into getting the Adblock extension for Firefox. On Flash images you can click the tiny "AdBlock" icon beside them and block that file/server forever. The same goes with gifs, banners, iframes, jpgs, etc. Just right click on the object, choose adblock, and then block the image.

Or go leet and use wildcards to block the entire ad server to avoid ALL of their future ads (e.g. http://ad.findfreemail.com* )

And for those of us that like to keep everything in one window within the tabs, rather than allow pages to spawn new firefox windows, here is something to keep everything within a singular firefox window, and just open the new pages in tabs rather than new windows:

I use the SwitchProxy one myself on my notebook...behind the Proxy at work, or while out and about, I get a simple little drop down menu on my tab bar, and I can instantly access multiple proxy settings I've configured.

Firefox is the shizzle, no doubt.

I am also currently using firefox and it's COOL indeed! But I guess I need more time in taming it, like the plugins and addons, oh well, especially making my webpages 100% compatible with it.

programming HTML and CSS in the proper manner, using W3C standad, almost always results in a 100% compatible website across every single browser.

People get incompatabilities with firefox because they try to create websites using html tags MEANT only for IE.

Ain't that the truth...I even W3C my html at work, even though it's in-house. Fun explaining to others what that means, hehe...

Cant remember where i read it, but someone did a survey a few months ago and IE had lost 2% of market share ...... Guess who gained 2% ??? Firefox :)))))

I heard that firefox hopes to be at a 10% market share by the end of the year. I can see it happening, everyone i've recommended firefox to has passed the message along to their friends :)

and the best part is that it is only 4.3 mb not even lite IE is about 16 mb ( haven't checked it yetbut is is quite big and minus all the features including popup blockes download utils and manu more no wonder it worked in india so well!
