Being Canadian...we produce more oil then we use...and I tell ya...I spend way more the 30 dollars a week.

The reason why we pay so much for gas/oil here, even though we produce enough gas/oil and natural gas to be more than self-sufficient and have a considerable surplus to boot, is because our government has for years supported trade in this area...
as stupid as it sounds we produce the raw materials and instead of refining all of it ourselves we ship it south to be refined...
we sell the raw product to the US at ridiculously low prices and then buy the finished product back from them at considerable more cost...
which forces us to get the remainder of our oil/gas from Venezuela...
the only good thing in all this is that we are not dependant on OPEC and the middle east for our supply...the mid-east could run out of oil tomorrow and it would barely affect us...it would affect cost as it is all tied into the market but not supply...

1. Things haven't stabalized enough over there for the US to quietly take oil

2. Bush is doing it because he, cheney, and other people whom he is in good company with are making large $$$ off of it... Think about all the companies over there doing contracting work... How many are "former" associates of Bush, Cheney, cabinent members, special friends of bush, etc? Most. Think Haliburton, for one. The whole thing is about money, and part of that is oil. Also, the economy was begining to **** it's pants after 9/11, and bush knows enough about economics to know that war usually helps the economy. Too bad we weren't in need of tons of new equipment to be manufactured, or that might of happend. Had Bush passed economics with a B instead of a D-, he might know such things.

If you would be driving the same car you're driving now in let's say Belgium (just picking a random country here, of course), you would pay exactly three times as much on gas. Yes, 3 times as much... every time the media here reports a "devastatingly high gas price", I have to laugh... I pay around $30 a week on gas (and I don't even drive that much), and I smile every time the pump tells me that it's only going to be $30 when I expect $100... Now hush :D

I already knew about those, you're forgetting I'm German ;) I like Lords of Acid, not because the girl is hot, or because of the lyrics, (Though let's get high has a fairly fun feel to it lyrically, it's one line and then a cool beat) but I like them because of the sounds, not because they put nipples on it and made a CD.
Now, the part I have to call out on saying they didn't do drugs before, is the song Marijuana in your brain... The very begining, like first 30 seconds.... There is no way in hell they made those exact sounds without smoking pot first. I say that because I have smoked a few times.
I don't do it like on any given day and haven't in years but I remember what it was like, and that song SOUNDS like THC.... Ummm, I'm not sure of your drug use but you'd understand if you've smoked before.
Heh, weed isn't my thing, I don't snort coke, I don't do E and I won't drop acid, Meth or Heroin in my mouth. Opium is not as strong or addictive as Heroin and neither is Vicodin, those are what I do.
As for health, well, besides what I told Mel a few days ago in a message, I'm fine. In fact, Vicodin is the only way I can get better (I wasn't lying when I said my heart had gotten bad form an accident, I can't excersize without Vicodin because it hurts like hell, and without excersize, I die in two years, bottom line an all) so, not only am I healthy (and considering I smoke, heh that's saying something) the only thing not healthy for me, is going to be healthy again after some long Opiate therapy sessions.
So yea, I'm fairly healthy. I walk more, I can't jog yet because it hurts to much, but I can get there, I just need a lot of Vicodin, and then I can be back to normal.
I think I'm the only one who listens to this stuff and doesn't dance, I more pop it on and relax while I do something else.
I'm pretty sure you like KMFDM, or at least, you could.... That is another part I'm into, and Crystal Method... Not sure about you but Europe is years ahead of America in Techno.... And cars..... And Beer..... And... Ah you know how I am.

I lived in Portugal for a year and a half and Brazillian TV. Spanish TV and Portugese foot ball matches were very different. I was drunk most of the time running around villages playing with Bulls so I forgot alot of Portugese. The good ole boys are on all sides of the fence. But we don't subsidize the oil industry. We subsidize prices to effect local policy that has nothing to do with pocketing money by Bush or other oil "insiders" such as Al Gore. Instead of taxing commerce (meaning higher oil tax always has reprecussions on services we NEED. I would support subsidizing DECENT public transportation or the cars ALREADY setting on car lots. Those hybrid cars are excellent, trouble is: only rich people can afford them, and they drive them to make themselves feel good. 50k for a small car is inappropriate. Subsidize them or give tax credits. The bigger issue is, these current technologies induce other poisons into our environment. But they will save gasoline.Quote:

Negative the high gas prices bother me but not as much (like you) considering it's still cheap on world scale. Gas prices are hitting me hard, seeing as that I'm only 16 and work min wage part time, AND I live 12 miles out of town... I spend a good 30 on gas a week, and now that I'm working late nights more often I'll probably be hitting around 40 a week on gas now... Oh well, That's what my jobs for, pay for gas.
