Long Distance Cycling (think RAAM not Tour de France)
1. Requires true stamina, strength and endurance
2. Get to see the country-side touring
3. Not for wusses... :D
X-Games...skateboarding, snowboarding...
Requiers skill to do tricks....fast...lot of accidents :)
Football ( not American), also not called Soccer.
We do not have a Soccer Association, we have a Football Association, FA
In Scotland we do not have a Scottish Soccer Association , we have a Scottish Football Associaton, SFA
Pitched battles, police horse charges, yellow cards, red cards, punch up's, fans attacking players, players attacking fans, fans attacking fans, oh happy days :D
Referee's
And of course in Scotland the Old Firm, the new season has begun :D
Can't top that too easily! A lot of Team Sport going on in that!:DQuote:

I must say as an individual sport, I have been surfing long board and short board since the late 1960's. Been fortunate to surf just about everywhere on the West Coast, lived in Hawaii, and now on the East Coast. Although the waves are small right now, with all the offshore tropical storms and hurricanes, it tends to build mountains, so bring it!
Got to have cahonnees for this one;)
~cheers~
Rougby
1. I'm built for it
2. Not for wusses by any stretch of the imagination
3. Lets me get in touch with my feminin side? I dono :P
Can't play much any more, ****ed up my shoulders ;( but still love the game.
Hey Hey,
Hockey (Before the Americans Ruined It (btw this is where a lot of my American Hatred stems from)..
Reasons:
1) It's fast paced and full of action (until you could be charged with assault for hitting a player at least... thank god for the CHL still)
2) It's a true test of teamwork... In football you get the ball and run.. 2 people do the work one to throw and one to catch.. Very seldom will a hockey player take the puck on his own the length of the ice and still score.
3) It's not baseball
Americans took the violence out of hockey (I've been to below minor league games here that are more violent than NHL games)... Americans tried adding a blue dot because black on white wasn't enough of a contrast (Let's not forget blue/red lines to indicate the type of shot... morons).. Guys getting criminal records because of high sticking calls and **** like that.. it's not right...
Anyways.. at least no one said baseball yet.. it has to be the most boring useless sport ever created.
Peace,
HT
Hockey by far is the best sports to watch, football is alright to...
I used to play hockey for 7 years and I always led my team in penalty box minutes lol... I was very aggressive and always got into fights, most of them I started lol... But I also always led my team in goals... Hockey has been in my family for a loooong time, because my whole dads side of the family is from michigan. I was really good and on 2 travel teams at once, but then I got burnt out and kind of quit which made my dad really angry... oh well, can't make everyone happy...
That is the funniest thing that I've ever read ....Quote:

Umm actually if you go to the states you'll see how much americans care for hockey ... sarcasm ...Quote:

Me I personally love football ( not american and please dont call it soccer ) ...
Tell me what other sport is more popular then football ??? Played by just about every country ...
Hi Agent_Steal,
:p
Eg ;)
In 1917 the NHL was formed with the Original Four teams...two from Montreal, and Ottawa, and Vancouver...

HickokSports.com - History - NHL 1917-18 Season
Eg ;)
boxing (kick and regular) and billiards (pocket)
they're both one-on-one and require great skill
I love cross-country running. The harder the better....steep hills, rocky terrain, dirt, gravel, sand, creek bottoms...it just makes it more challenging. To me, running is the ultimate sport...man against man.
Now, if I had to watch a sport, it would definitely be hockey....hockey, and beer!
Also love to watch the Tour de France!
Hockey and any kind of racing (particularly NASCAR). Both are fast-paced and exciting to watch.
Gotta disagree with the NASCAR being fast paced... You watch them go in circles for 2 hours then finally see a wreck ;)Quote:

My favorite sport would probably be soccer/football... That or Skateboarding... Probably because I enjoy doing both...
wrestling; freestyle, not professional garbage.
There is no excuses, no other teammates to blame (aka hockey, football, no hardware to go awry, nothing but you and the opponent.
Uses more muscles than cycling or runnning or any other one on one sport, requires more strategy than any other sport, it's just mano a mano, and muscles don't mean victory, like weight lifting, etc.
This is the ultimate sport. No equipment like golf, or other **** to muddle with the results.
Other than the age old irrartional homophobe (aka water polo jock) argument "guys rolling around with other guys" I can't think of any even remotely rational argument against wrestling.
peace
So anybody want to play some Mayan Ball
Talk about your life being on the line ...
Sounds a lot like the great game of chess ...Quote:

This one is cool:
It was made up by me and some friends a few years ago. The object was to start a police chase and get away. Ummmm, yea so it was kind of stupid, but it was 3 AM,a nd I was bored so we all stood by a street light on a main road, and waited for a cop to go by. When one would, we all ran like hell.
Great for burning calories. Cops go by this road a lot, and after 10 minutes the first cop went by and we were all standing by this street light and as he went by we all ran like hell. this was pre checked, like looking at what roads to run down, and checking to make sure they were dark and had hiding places, and after all that was figured out we started playing.
Man it was fun. A cop would drive by and we all ran to see what he would do, and all of a sudden he just turns around in thje middle of the road and starts chasing after us so we broke up into teams and ran like hell. Me and my best friend ran together and hopped over into more yards than a crack head with a VCR.
If anyone got caught the excuse was going to be they were trying to get me in shape and I just left work and couldn't run at any other time and since working midnights was normal, it was believable.
Now ummm, pretty much everyone had a bright colored mohawk of some sort, so it was hard to run away and we all smoke so that didn't help any. We played for like an hour and then decided to walk to a store to get drinks. On the way back a cop went by, saw us, slowed down, picked up his radio, then turned around back towards us so we all ran like **** and it was FUN.
Except that last time, as I was running, I realised I forgot to put my stash in my car, so I was like **** I'M GOING TO JAIL IF THEY CATCH ME! Then we took off and ran to someone's house and stayed there for a few hours.
Another sport I like is racing. Bikes, Cars, whatever, I love it. I've only lossed a few times because I was stupid enough to do 120 MPH on a wet rainy freeway
And of course shooting. Not hunting, just shooting things that were made into targets, heh.
To watch?
MotoGP or superbikes.
British Touring cars are good too.
To play?
I like squash, cycling and I used to be good at fullbore rifle shooting when I was under 18.
I used to ride motorbikes (does that count as a sport?) till I sold it earlier this year. Only crashed once only doing about 40mph. Teach me for going for a thrash in January.
1st Fav - Rollerblading
why? - I like it.
2nd Fav - Hockey
why? - I like it. Made a decision to never watch it again though because if the American strikes. Now that it's back though....
3rd - American Football
Why? - I like it, It's watching Battle Chess.
//EDIT Oh and show me a tooka that doesn't like hocky? :D
I like Beach Volleyball, Tennis, and Olympic Swimming & Track/Field.
I can only watch football/basketball/baseball for the SuperBowl/Finals/HomeRunDerby
My favorite sports to watch would be hurling and rugby. Sailing would have to be my favorite sport to participate in.
Amateur sports I like best:
Boxing, Swimming, Gymnastics, Louge and Skiing (downhill and slalom)
Pro sports:
Uhm...hrm. I kinda keep track of how bad the Cowboys are losing, but hey. I used to like pro baseball too, but only because it gave me such good naps. Golf also has that effect. Semi-Pro boxing is good, but the rest of the sport is too dominated by Don King to truly enjoy it.
Stuff I like that should be a sport but isn't:
Texas Hold 'em Poker! (it's on ESPN, doesn't that count for something?)
9-Ball Pool (same thing!)
And, always, X-Games - especially street louge and giant-half-pipe bicycling (how do they get that big air?)
To participate in - well, I'm not much into sports anymore since my back injury, but I still lift weights when I can. I used to enjoy the occasional sandlot game of (American, not that other crap) football, baseball, and 2 on 2 volleyball.
HOCKEY ... by far the best team sport. Fastest and therefore by extension the hardest hitting. American football is boring compared to hockey.(The stand around for 5 minutes then 10 seconds of action and then stand around again... GTFOOH. Try thinking "on the fly" like in hockey) Baseball has gotta be the dumbest sport ever.
As far as my favorite sport to watch.. UFC or PRIDE (Japan). That's mixed martial arts or MMA. I love violence but Pride is by far more brutal. It's so brutal (head-stomps, fingers in eyes) that even I draw the line. But it's BY FAR THE BEST THING TO WATCH. Granted.. there are a lot of ex-wrestler in UFC but a good striker (Lidell) can ruin their whole game. Every other "fighting sport" is only a subset of allowed things to do. Boxing (hands only) Kick-boxing (hand and feet but no ground game-grapling) Wresting (no strikes) ...
I have to say Hockey. But I hear that the damn Canadians are trying to ruin it... ;)
I'm actually really excited about this upcoming season.
The rule changes should make things a bit more interesting too. :)
X-Games are second fav. I was never really into team sports. Extreme sports are where its at. I loved when the X-Games came to philly... fecking awesome. Now I'm stuck watching it on TV.
Other than that... does fragging count? :D I've gotten my heart rate up and even broken a sweat... lol
To watch:
American Football... I love the action and I'm kind of partial to the game since I played it up to the collegiate level.
To participate in:
Drag racing. Nothing has ever gotten my heart racing like that sport. Right now it is only in my spare time (which is too little) that I get to race but one of these days it will be a full time job for me :D
Sleep
1.) You can do it with your eyes closed
2.) You don't feel a thing
3.) You are entertained by a short film
4.) It's relaxing AND fun! :D :P
My favorite sport is SEX ..... no am not kidding ... here's the benefits and why we all should appreciate sex ..... :D

4- Makes a person feel younger.

20 is a good one for me I just got taken off the register for my NHS dentist. Nice way to avoid fillings.
In response to Black Cluster's list:
No wonder Hugh Hefner's lived so long! :D
unhappy, don't get me started, your bringing up the classic debate, striker vs grappler. And let me tell you a good grappler can ruin a stikers game anyday as well. It all depends on the skill level of the fighter. But just remember, back in the day, UFC was all strikers, and then grapplers came along and beat the **** out of everyone and that's why there is mixed martial arts today. Just so you know I wrestled all through high school and junior high and I will argue to the death lol...
swimming
Stamina, strength and endurance
i been swimming since the age of 8 been of swim team through jr high and high school during the summer was on our local playground swim team i even came in first place in city finals :).
and it's something i can still do :D
