Quick question why not just rent/purchase the movie ?
B.T.W. downloading copyrighted films is well lets just say illegal ....
Can i hide by i.p address so they can't tracking me.
Not if they really want to find you.....by "they" I mean the lawQuote:

Cause like agentsteal as stated...the downloading of copyright protected material is illegal
And you cant be sure that there isnt some piece of malware piggybacking on what you are downloading...
IMHO...it is a bad security practice to download illegal software, music, movies etc
cause you dont really know what you are getting

Additionally. with the low cost of rentals, it just doesn't seem worth the chance of getting in a whole lot of trouble.
cheers
There is a plugin for Azureus - safepeer which will apparently block the IPs of those who are out to catch you... although how useful/good it will be I shall leave up to you to find out.
However, your IP is still going to show up, so unless you bounce yourself through another server it will be your IP address that is shown, and then tracked, and then hey presto you owe a film company thousands...

I'm with everyone else on this thread. Just save yourself the trouble and buy it.
uhh i REALLY second that. I only know one person that knows what he's doing and can get away with it. dude i got a better plan for you its solid and saves your lawer from killing you. Pop some popcorn. Take 5 dollars, go to blockbuster and rent the video, and sit back and have fun without bubba. :)
mandraketux is absolutly correct. it seems that every century has its own witch hunt and this centurys hunt includes the heritics that are those that steal from the money grubbing movie producers and record labels. at least they still burn you at the stake though, thats always fun.
stealling is wrong no matter how you look at it and the days of downloading mp3's and movies without a care are gone... for now. good luck and remeber not to drop the soap.
For the life of me, I don't know why the industry is so worried about filesharing. It's got a lot of drawbacks:
1) It's slow and inconvenient, often taking days to download one movie. And running filesharing software, such as Kazaa or Limewire, really slows a network.
2) The quality is inconsistent and often poor, whether it's music or movies.
3) Downloads are rife with rogue viruses and spyware. When I needed a demo of an infected computer, I simply downloaded 4 porn movies and ran them. Two of the movies thoroughly infected my demo machine.
But I find filesharing, particularly torrents, to be wonderful for getting my hands on documentaries, especially foriegn ones, and other educational material. The movie industry is simply on a witchhunt and failing to adapt themselves to the new technologies out there.

At least some countries, notably France and Australia, have the good sense to begin to legalize filesharing (at least they're talking about it). Filesharing has no place at work though. It's an admin's nightmare, creating not only legal issues but also tons of network issues.
I'd only run anything torrents, and I'd download judiciously. Don't count on quality. Watch your back, you're liable to download viruses and spyware at some point. Torrents, though not anonymous, will give you more anonymity than other forms of filesharing.
As for the legality of filesharing, I'm with Thoreau: "Break the law."

Alright.... we know this guy must be brand new into the whole "torrenting" bonanza. I really see no big deal in being able to download movies...just don't burn them onto any other discs. You wouldn't want to get caught.
But my question is that will the RIAA take the extent to go over to your house and arresting you because you've only downloaded Spirited Away? lol.
I use Bitlord. It's blazin' fast. But I do get the occasional virus or trojan. What i'd say to do is just download something free like AdAware, and if your computer seems to be acting up all of a sudden and just clean out your pc.
Hey, It works for me. I'm down with that thoreau quote too.

are you sure you have got rid of them...and they didnt drop something else on your computer???.
I for one cannot risk having crap on any of my machines ..work or personal...and if I suspect anything...a format reinstall usually puts my mind at ease.
AFAIK..adaware does not clean out trojans and virii.....Quote:

Since they are sueing for $150,000 per copyright violation, last I heard this included first time violations, if you insist on stealling copyrighted material just make sure its worth it in the end...
Remeber, they have tons of money to throw at tracking people down and they have gone of the deep end...

Speak of the devil ...
We just got a notice from the RIAA about someone who has been sharing out music using AresWarez. The share has been active for just a few days. If it's a staffer, they get canned, of course, and turned over. If it is a student, they get turned over to the RIAA. We don't sheild or take the heat for anyone.

Don't think the RIAA comes over to your house. They just file suit and send you certified letters. Then an offer or a bill. Maybe if your bad luck holds, you get to meet one of their lawyers. :(
Gotta be careful with sharing. You filter torrents on the network, rapier57? Besides the official line, you got another take on the file sharing thing?
I enjoy the PBS and foreign documentaries (Adam Curtis's "Power Of Nightmares", for instance). Most movies are for 'scheissen' these days. Gaming's what's killing the movie biz anymore.

ah yes...the issue about file sharing. well, honestly i don't get why people love using file sharing...i personally don't like it.
previously (long time ago when i was quite young) when kazaa first came out i thought it was the best thing in the world! shortly after using it for a while i realized i never quite got what i wanted. only until later on did i find out how insecure and dangerous file sharing was..but it was already too late since my computer was already infected quite a bit [with some basic defenses on too] which basically overwhelmed my old computer.
anyway after a painful reformat the lesson was learned there yet i think file sharers today don't really care about a safe system. file sharing is dangerous and never fully satisfying. the results/downloads you usually get are incomplete and/or bad in quality, and/or usually have some malicious file hidden with it (As described previously and is no joke). to me its like a road leading straight into a hurricane (it's never safe and it will end up in disaster). also, to add onto the mayhem, most file sharing software products are bundled with malicious threats that may not be detected or be removed easily, which can be quite the problem. so basically, file sharing is not only extremely dangerous, but a bit hassle to deal with! not only is it illegal, but there are so many other issues you must review in order to keep your system alive! consider this: is it really worth it to put so much on the line just to get something that you could easily get for a few bucks?
well anyway, for me, i'd rather just go buy the actual product since there are so many upsides. you get all the great benefits/full features from the product with ensurement that it will be clean! not only that but prices are getting relatively low for a lot of stuff (like in this case for movie rentals, also for some antimalware products) and you wont have any legal issues at all! its a lot less hassle and a lot more secure, and i don't mind spending a few bucks just to further advance a little in life.

ANYWAY getting back to the topic, file sharing has gotten a bit low nowadays. kazaa is like dead from what i've heard and new people use things like limewire ,etc. which claim to now be 'clean' of bundled software, but you can never be sure unless you read that user agreement note they post in installation. either way the files being spread around are as infected as ever so its dangeorus just going on a program allowing sharing with your own computer. but anyway, my point was i never did like file sharing programs and probably never will due to their legal issues, mountains of security risks and horrible reliability.
ok, you can stop laughing now tiger ;)
