I am a big Bill Clinton fan, but not sure about Hilary.
Well I would vote for her...if I could :)
and I love the guy from Vermont Leahy...

although I dont think he is running...but thats what the US needs...some tough bastards like that that wont be bullied by bushypoo and all his friends
MLF
I kind of doubt it, but IF it happens, I'm warning our UK forum members, I'm moving there.
I would love to see a female president but I dont think she is the woman I would want in office. Of all the contenders this year I am most excited about Obama. Regardless I feel it is time the US got the old rich white guys out of the white house.
But the race nobody is talking about is http://www.walken2008.com/.
Oh yeah, Christer Walken.
Well as they say, female presidents = no war. So might be the best :D But Bill will coach her ...
We'll have a female president sooner or later, I just don't want it to be her, not now, not ever.
Ugh...
Useless feminazi ...
I do follow AMerican politics to a certain extent with bush, but never really researched the clinton family. Could someone paste a link with information on her and co.
Thanks
Just google "demagogue" that should about do it. :)
Heh... I bet she has some giant orgy with the SS just to get back at Bill...
Well at least it will be "her dress" being sent to the cleaners this time...:D:halo:
Oh yeah forgot, can't see Obama getting too many votes, people still have this thing with names...."Osama" vs "Obama", really now......ya think...
I wouldn't vote for her but it would be interesting to have a female president.
Doesn't seem like any of you are really even giving her a chance. She's been a fine senator here in New York and has a lot of support with two landslide victories. My only fear is that she might have been holding back her "bad" side of politics to gain public support for her presidential campaign, so I'm curious if she'll be a good president the second term. I would like to see her as president, her or Obama, I think one of those will be president because they already have a lot of backing based on superficial terms (sex and race) and will draw more support with their political ideas.Quote:

I have given her a chance, I've listened to what comes from her mouth. She's like many dems, a demogogue. She says what she knows people want to hear, and let the truth be damned.
I take it you're a Republican. :p Well, I don't favor parties I favor politicians individually.
I think that can be said for every politician, but she delivers results that the PEOPLE want whether she has a hidden agenda with these results or not (e.g. getting re-elected for a second term in the White House if she makes it) it still favors the country as a whole just don't vote for her a second term.Quote:

Also, being the first female president will be more than enough pressure for her to be a good president. She is the one who will be basically showing if females will make a good president. If she is a bad president she will be used in phrases worldwide as an example with comments like "Just look at what happened with Hillary."
NOTE: I'm not saying all female presidents will be like her, but her presidency will sway votes across the nation for future female hopefuls (Positively or negatively).
But wasnt the votes rigged with BUSH vs ALgore. Watched a documentary which explained black people voting for algore etc etc however they were sent away because they didnt have the correct documentation.
Just a documentary so dont flame me :D
It was also banned in the USA to my knowledge.
I'm not a republican, I actually have no party affiliation. I think the closest to what I believe would be libertarian, but I'm definitely diametrically opposed to the democrapic party.
In the end we will, as we usually have to do, choose the lesser of evils. Can Hillary win? The answer lies in who is running against her. She will raise enough money to go the distance. I figure she'll have the dems nomination.
If the same tired old crew are running, she probably will win.
I'd like Obama, I don't think he's "matured" enough, that however may be his strongest asset.
Well I think Hillary's asset is how much people recognize her. Some people (my parents included) vote just to vote, because it's the 'moral' thing to do and Hillary is recognized nationwide by most non-ignorant citizens so when people see her name on the voting ballot and other people who they do not recognize they will go for her. I would like to see a debate between the two though.
Up here we have our own idiots to choose from, but if I were down there, I wouldn't hesitate to vote for Jesse The Man Ventura, I mean what with Ex Hollywood actors (Rayguns) and other nincompoops, how bad off can you be.
So getting Hillary in, is of enormous entertainment value, and should be considered so all of the left wing nutjobs in Hollywood will have someone to look up to, I mean they looooved Bill...like I said we have our own idiots but at least we have more then 2 choices, and slowly but surely the diehard old boy's network of Liberals and Conservatives are disappearing and the new parties on the horizon will be green in appearance.
It is a sad day when politicians are selected and elected on perception and not sbstance, so he looks okay or he is a she or a person of colour, should it really matter, it's the platform they put forth that should get them elected or tossed out...same goes with our idiots up North, I feel there is so much apathy towards politicians now that, in a few years, they will be elected by default, cause no one showed up to vote...scary.....
Well, it is your country, and your politics...............
/Me............ I cannot understand anyone who supports these pinko commie persons whose parents were not married when they were born........... you know the ones? Atilla the Hun, Ghengis Khan and other such wimps? Hell's teeth guys........ the Statue of Liberty came from Napoleon Bonaparte's mob?..... just melt it for scrap:p
All I can say is that whilst my cousin Bill (yes.... somewhat remote but still true:D) was a "hard dawg to keep on the porch at night" (quote from local farmer) will Hilary prove to be just as hard a bitch?
Vote for Dr. Evil............ or at least make him head of the IRS, and Bill the Cat for head of Homeland Security?
If things get very bad my friends, I will countersign you application to rejoin the Commonwealth:D
Muhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Commonwealth nothing, I'm coming there to live if she gets in. I will bolt out of here like a hooker from a cathedral.
Joe!.......... that's where my staff do their best business :D
You can come and live in one of my houses mate! ;)
LOL, I forgot, Peter Gabriel told us back in the mid 70s that the church runs protection rackets and other criminal stuff there. That's mighty generous of you, nih.
LOL... If she won, you'd better open up a complex for wayward Americans cause I'd bolt out of here so fast you wouldn't have time to logout to answer the door.Quote:

But what are her policies?
Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
She scares me. She may be good for New York but New York isn't the same as the rest of the U.S. Its kinda funny, you've got New York on one side, L.A. on the other, and the rest of us are stuck in the middle. California likes Arnold but I wouldn't vote for him either.
While I'm not opposed to a female president, I don't think this is the right time. With the problems we've got in the middle east and Asia it could be taken as weakness.
Is it possible to get a president with "balls" and brains? :o
Yes, it's possible. Senator John McCain
Give the lady a chance ... its the 21st century. Maybe it will be for the best, not only for the USA but for the rest of the world.
Hmmm, don't think the Argentinians would agree about a women being easier on peaceful initiatives.....(Iron Lady....:D) course Maggie IMHO had "balls", and Golda Meir could give Bushypoo a run for his money not to mention Indira Ghandi, although these particular women were "Prime Minister's" and not "Presidents" it's not like Hilary will be setting a precedent worldwide.;)Quote:

Everything in there is a positive obviously. Any comments on the article?
Comments......ah let's see, nope....sorry it's too biased obviously, but as with all things, it will depend on people's memories and hopefully for her, this doesn't rear it's ugly head and bite her in the arse...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitewater_scandal
Heh... I'm seriously going to vote for Jeb as a write in.
Meh.
Dalek: This is why I like topics like this. I live in south africa and haven't really "researched" the clintons but just reading the post you can get an idea of the person.
Nice article about the scandal, now that turns heads :P
I would be the first to admit the Clinton's and many other elected officials character can be called into question...
Anyone opposed to Clinton care to move beyond the frivolous name calling to explain their distaste for Clintons policies?Quote:

That's like telling a thief that "we know you stole, and it was wrong, but what the heck you might as well keep the loot now".
I assume your support for McCain is not based on his immigration policies?Quote:

I don't support McCain. There is no current candidate I'm aware of that I would support.
Oh, the usual stuff. While Bill was Pres., she headed the commission thatQuote:

created the Clinton health care proposal. I am opposed to socialized medicine,
and that plan was worse than socialized medicine, combining the worst
aspects of socialism with profiteering from the insurance industry. It was a
perfect example of the old "bait and switch" technique, telling people they
would be getting free universal health care when it was just mandatory insurance,
and far from free.
Although I don't like her, I am torn. I also hate McCain. He's a closet socialist
too. Google for "McCain-Feingold"
Well here are the lists:
Democrats
Republicans now if I could vote in these elections the first candidate on the Republicans list is kinda what I would be willing to bet is the lesser of two evils....:D:halo:
