Easter
Happy Easter evreyone!
7am. Just got back from the first outdoor party of the year in these parts (UK). Listening to a bit of Avalanches & Roganjosh.
We have just had some beautiful weather, almost feels like summer is here.
So. How have you spent your easter? Good times? Bad times? Or just in front of that screen?
Me? Wooooooo!:drink: :duh:

went to church... then went out for laser tag and go-carts... now I am back home after a huge dinner, drinking beer, and reading AO... happy Easter...
-
Bah Humbug!
OPPS! Wrong holiday...now where'd I put that rabbit stew??? :D
-
I was wasting time today, sadly. I planned on doing other stuff that just didnt work out. Well I got my wireless card finally working in Linux.... I couldn't use the dhclient ath0 command I had to use dhcpcd ath0. Yea, I wanted to go to church and a lot of stuff. ...A bit old for the egg hunts.

And I've spent most of Easter just working :( Sunday was my only day off, the rest of the time I started work at 6am which is no fun. Still, on Sunday I went to the local rugby and watched Newcastle Falcons thankfully secure themselves Guiness Premiership rugby next season (so I might renew my season ticket!)

I spent the weekend painting the house....
not very springy here...on and off snowing :(
as you can tell..I am not overly christian....I will take the day off work with pay though..along with any other christian holiday....
works for me

You're lucky to have a choice! I have to work like it or not.
-
I work my fair share of weekends and holidays........then take off other days in lieu...or charge extra for working a holiday ;)
all and all....works out to quality wine drinking days

Bet Easter Monday doesn't see you crawl out of bed at 5 am to start work at 6 though :(
-
no...crawled out of bed for 630am
we get Good Friday off...not Easter Monday...unless of course you work for the government..then you get Friday and Monday off...
What I dont get...is we cant even say Merry Christmas any more..because it may "offend" other religions....but our governmnet still shuts done for "christian" holidays....
figure that one out

I woke up at 4am easter morning, and went to bed around midnight. Pretty much killed any chance of enjoying the day that I might've had.
-
Yes the two days of the year when in England the big stores can't open are Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. Stupid when there's no evidence Jesus was even born around Christmas Day, but rather nice for the staff who otherwise would be running around shops selling goods like there was no tomorrow.
If you work for the NHS then you get more than Good Friday and Easter Monday - every bank holiday gives them the Tuesday off as well. All right for some!
-
We have like no holidays here, compared to the UK. I often wonder how the economy functions there. Everytime I turn around my friends there are telling me they have a bank holiday or some other. Half the country closes down between xmas and New Years.
-
You just have different holidays, like thanksgiving and independence day.
-
That's just 2. Discounting 2 weeks vacation, we get about 9 to 13 national holidays off of work, a yr, depending on the company. The UK gets what, 24?
-
Err, not quite. I get 21 days vacation, plus 8 days bank holiday. Again, the 21 days depends on how long you've been with the company, but a stingy company can include the bank holidays as part of the statutory 4 weeks' holiday.
