The Wolfman is looking for a channel to lurke :)
The xiphias spends quality time in only the most treasure filled of channels.
But The xiphias does not speak in these channels, he downloads.
The xiphias does not favor one over the next.
The xiphias asks the great packet news where to go.
Should he not speak, xiphias taps additional sources.
The Wolfman was unaware that there was another who spoke like The Wolfman. :)
irc.unerror.com :)
when i'm super bored i'll usually just login in and idle and kill some time there.
You're telling me you never heard of Rickey Henderson?Quote:

Seriously though, IRC has been killed by mobile phones and text messaging........... it is OBSOLETE......... not Kewl............ non-Hip............ the kind of thing your mom used to do?
The nihil has examined The Wolfman's avatar and determined that he uses "Greecian 2000".............. not enough grey hairs? :bigpimp:
Hey there wolfie

#bookz on Undernet.
irc.unerror.com #lobby (<-- more tech)

Hi there Wolfie~,
I am glad that you at least tolerate my Limey sense of humour.:D
To be honest with you I don't think that I have been on IRC for over a year, it does seem to have died, but there again the same has happened to a lot of forums and BBS.............. just a load of old farts like me reminiscing
I believe that IRC sites that deal with special interests (fishing, birdwatching etc.), gaming clans and the like are still very active, as it is a good means of communication for those communities.
The cellphone is something of a blessing as it keeps the Trolls occupied, but now you have the problem of spammers. I kid you not, it is enough of a PITA to keep spammers out of forums, let alone an IRC channel.
Just my observations from over here.
he's in Ireland. It's not like he's not acclimated:DQuote:

Only the British master sarcasm and irony............ with the exception of Oscar Wilde, but he had substantial British connections.
Are you talking about the baseball player? Regardless, I have not heard of Rickey Henderson. Does he also refer to himself in the third person?Quote:

Even if he had played for a Canadian team, I still wouldn’t know who he was. I really don’t follow baseball at all, Canadian or not, eh!.Quote:

I concur. I was a big baseball fan for most of my life, but when it finally hit home that my team (the NY Mess) never met a stupid move they didn't make, and that wasn't going to ever change, I walked away. Now I just watch the Rangers and giants (football).
Don't forget Bob Dole when it comes to speaking about himself in the 3rd person.
##slackware on freenode is still pretty active most times.
ROfl! Where do you get all these 3rd person guys? Can I also start talking in the 3rd person or is it the "elite" that is allowed too ...
It is I who am the Irish Wolfe JP. :pQuote:

"It's way down the Falls Road, is where I long to be............

But, being British, I wouldn't know that sort of stuff would I?
:lildevil:
irc.unerror.org <---lots of idlers but there is some good convo sometimes.

There aren't any words to describe how honored ARG-IRC is to hear someone speak so highly of us.
www.UnError.com does deserve the prize for being the most tech though, theres no way www.arg-irc.com can compete with UnError's Infinite knowledge of the cosmos.
PSSST
(...i heard a rumor unerror gives out free beer on the third Friday of the last week in march)
And by the way, they were exactly the same on their forums. I even gave them a small contribution too, and though I would never want to be thought to be buying special treatment, you'd think common courtesy wouldn't be too hard to hand out!
For instance, I started a thread entitled "Hello" to introduce myself, and one of the first replies I got was:
"I find your signature ironic."
Not the greatest of welcomes - then they have a great long thread entitled "The Future of Unerror", where they bemoan the lack of new forum threads and the lack of direction etc. Yet their whole attitude would put off anyone posting - for instance I asked repeatedly where my avatar that I'd uploaded was as it wasn't showing, and it never did get addressed, just laughed off. In fact, the whole attitude of the forums caused one member to post:
"It seems like we (myself for sure, not everybody) at UE are becoming increasingly arrogant, so assured that we are the best and know everything. It seems like we should be trying to share ideas and learn and teach instead of shunning ideas, claiming ours is the best or only way. Because to be honest, we _MAY_ be bright as a community, with a few glittering gems and a few undiscovered ones as well, but we are not the smartest people in existence, we do not know everything; I think it's time we stopped acting like it. Now this is not to say that people presenting ignorance should simply be accepted, but instead of slamming them perhaps we should teach them what we know. This is mostly in dealing with our attitudes and not our intelligence."
I couldn't agree more - however, I hadn't intended to turn this into a "let's bitch about unerror thread" - enough said. Just, if anyone is looking for a good irc channel to chat in with other members of AntiOnline, then head across to irc.arg-irc.net and you will be auto joined to the channel #arg-irc - simply the best!
