Why does this site ping my machine before posting to the board. I've been trying to post the previous message for a while ...finally i discovered that my firewall was blocking a ping attempt from this site.
Is this ping required ....?

you have an account on a machine, if your inactive for a period of time it checks to see if your still there, if your not it can free up resources.
I dont receive pings from this server ?
