AO Site Suggestion or addition

Antionline seems to be a pretty big community of people who like to talk together and share ideas right?

So why not start a AO gamming server that runs something like Counter Strike 1.3 or a number of other fun multiplayer online games... I suggest counter strike because i enjoy playing counter strike a good deal and would like to play with other users who enjoy the same subject of security as me and think it would be a good way to make new friends here and maybe even start AO counter strike clans..

So if u like the idea show ur support and maybe JP will look into something like it.. if it already exsist please tel me where it is :)

Counter Strike? At least make it a Unreal Tournament server! :)

Neat idea I think, but do enough gamers come to AO to make it worth while though?

Though I spose you could look at it from the point of view that adding a games server might

bring in more people to AO....

We've had a Q3A server up for a bit, thanks to Louie. Personally, an Unreal Tourney server would be a much better Idea, because the hardware requirements are much lower, and we're much more likely to attract people who don't have the most up to date equipment..

Though i enjoy CS more then UT i could deal with playing UT ;)

so i say thats a good idea... we need a UT server or at least want ;)

Isnt AO supposed to be a security website? What does Counte Strike have to do with security? No offence.... I mean its agreat idea and would be great if it would be adapted... But Gaming + Security = :confused:

well i think that we all just sometimes like to be around each other and have fun such as just talking bout our days on irc.antionline.com .. maybe this can be another way to just meet people who we can have fun with and later talk about security... i just think its a good way to get closer and learn more about each other and just plain out have fun ;)

On my floor in halls at uni atm we have 2 C programmmers, 3 flash/web designers, and a networking/hardware guru - but what unites them all? What forms a lasting bond between us (as well as a deepening resentment between ourselves and our partners?) the many hrs we spend blowing the absaloute crap out of each other thru our LAN gaming :) So its got my vote! Tho CS is way better than UNreal anyday - and forget Q3 lets go retro with the original (and in my opinion still best)

I don't think it's gonna happen, though. I'd vote for Tribes (1)! Works with many lower-end lower-bandwidth systems, compared to some of the other stuff.

I will be in the process of moving for most of End of February to End of March. After I am settled in and have a new highspeed internet line I have no issues with starting another game server for AO.
