Linux does not require a very powerful computer. I am running Red Hat 6 on a 100 MHz Pentium and it runs just fine. Therefore, you do not have to spend a lot of money for a computer to install linux...

Yes, Lindows is real. From what I understand, it is an OS that can run both unix & windows programs. Unix based? I hope so. Lindows is scheduled to come out some time next year (full version)
