If you want to send out massive amounts of spam or just send someone you know flame letter, simply install some SMTP software on your box, set it up to "allow mail relay" to anyone and you be set.
Be warned though that many ISP's have blacklists to prevent such spam or analog modem mailing. If you want to be anonymous and have mail delivered instead of rejected, try hotmail.com yahoo.com or any other of the free e-mail services. Just don't put your real name or info on the account.
I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly what to do because you never said what OS you were running on your box

Re: anonymous e-mailer
I assume your talking about anon mailers such as haktek or divine intervention. If so, you need to place the name of YOUR mail server in the "server" field. Eg- mail.(yourISP).com. If you do that though it's not very anonymous as it will send your IP with the message.
It's better just to use web based remailers such as riot or anonymouse. It may take a little longer to get there but at least it's 100% anonymous.

FYI
Just so you know, Hacktek, and divine were patched from most, if not all, OS's a long time ago. And virtually all servers Filter out E Mail Bombs.
