    Linux Help

    Sup,
I just installed RH 7.1 Linux in my machine, and I have 98 running also. I hate that boot screen (LILO I beleive, plz correct me if I'm wrong) that comes up so that I may choose my OS for that session... I know so little about Linux that it's scary! lol But I am willing to learn...
What I was wondering is: Is there a more... ummm... "Spiffy" boot screen? Something customizable maybe? I understand that I can customize LILO, but I'm wondering about changing the background and such... I know there will be some limitations because it is in a limited-OS kind of environment, but anything would help. My thanks in advance.

BTW, it doesn't have to be some sort of script kiddie kinda thing, if it complicated I'll learn more while I'm applying it, so....
    Bring it ON!

There is an image file in /boot/message which displays
the RedHat logo when lilo comes up.

It is a 320x200 image file in PCX format.

What i suggest you do is to edit that file using GIMP, once you've made a copy of the original.
