    Question Xvidtune

    After installing Red Hat 7.0 I've noticed that the refresh rate for the monitor is running too slow and causing eye strain. All online documentation I've found on adjusting the refresh rate says it's done using Xvidtune. I find that all Xvidtune does is resize the size of the screen to the monitor rather than adjust the refresh rate. Any help would be greatly appreciated........

    Not sure on linux, but bsd uses the config files to control refresh, linux should use the same.

    XFree86 uses the file /etc/X11/XF86Config or /usr/X11R6/etc/X11/XF86Config.

    Use a text editor to look at and modify the monitor rates within the file.

    BE CAREFUL .... some monitors can be damaged or wrecked if you use refresh and sync rates outside what they can handle.
