    Question Silent Modem

Ok, heres my problem. I want to silence my modem when it dials. Its so loud. I already tried the modem volume control and nothing comes of it. I am tempted to pull the speaker out. Is there any other way to remedy this situation? Thanx. Peace.

hhhm. all depending on your isp. most isp's will do it from their setup menu. there will be a buttom (or something of the sort) and it will say/ask you if you want to hear your modem.

If you post details of the modem perhaps someone might help.
A quick search on google for the modem type and volume might shed some light on your problem, failing that, ripping the speaker (or breaking one the cables to it) might do the trick.

I did it! ok check it out......simple. If the volume control doesnt work go to properties, connection and then advanced....under the extra setting type in M0....that did the trick.....ah yes.....silence at last..Peace.

    hello
go to sytem in your control panel then to devices
and remove or disable tha sound for the modem device
(audio +name of the modem ) .and then everything will be fine .
if this will not work then just tell us which is the trade mark of the modem

    i hope this helps
    bye
