    Is this fair?

    Hi.
I was watching the news and suddenly they said that The US government was not gonna let people from Colombia finish their studies in Chemical, Biologycal and Computer Science fields, and it's denying visas to the US, even to the students.
i don't know but, i don't think it's fair to judge and like punish many people just for the damage of a few.
I think this should be handled in a different way, don't you?
Just want to know what you guys think, and i hope I made myself clear.

    P.S: I'm from Colombia

It is perfectly fair to prevent non-citizens from entering (or staying in) the United States. It is not punishment, it is an attempt at self-protection. Non-citizens are not entitled to an education within the United States, nor are they entitled to visit the United States. When the United States allows these things, it should be considered a privilege, not an entitlement.

However, I agree this is not an appropriate action. Those who believe such actions are going to prevent or stem terrorism also believe criminals will not have access to weapons if guns are banned. They react to situations fearfully, instead of thinking logically. They put pressure upon our government and our government reacts - again, out of fear.

I agree with Ennis why is this question posted to a technical forum. However, we are currently at war and when at war right and wrong sometimes takes a back seat to national security. Ask the many japanese americans interned in camps during WWII if they thought it was fair.

It's just that I wanted to hear the opinion of some of u americans, and i felt pretty bad about that decision.
But then again, this is the world we live in and right or wrong we have to live with it.
