    Hi agentlinux...
Can you tell me the version numbers of the latest versions?
If you can, I might be able to tell you if thats true, coz I have one of the later versions of Visual studio, which includes VC++...

Well, I have Visual C 6.0 and it doesn't use the XP-like product activation... but I do have the MSDN edition of Visual Studio, which may affect it... but I wouldn't think so..

    As for Visual J, I don't know.......

It has serial codes product activation.. Visual Studio 6 has been out for ages, before microsoft released their product activation shyte...

although, I guess nothing could stop them from putting it in version released later on.. but I doubt it...
