Before MP3 I was one of those stupid people who would run out and buy a CD for just one song. Now I can have that one song plus 159 others that I like all on one CD that cost me about $.33
With the money I saved on CD's I bought a CD player for my car that plays MP3's. I can't wait to get my DVD burner, imagine 1000 songs on one disc.

you getting a DVD burner?? nasty stuff, that'd be a beast, thousands of songs on the one cd . aahhh i want one too. try using wma, makes it smaller without losing sound quality.

I want a DVD burner really so that I can record movies from HBO onto something a little better than those stupid video tapes. Then I could hop into my car (after I get my in car multimedia system) and watch movies I did not have to buy, but still in high quality. I could also drive cross country and never hear the same song twice. Finally I could easily back up all of my files onto 2 DVD's. By the way what is a good mp3 to wma file encoder? Where can you download it?

if you want an encoder go to http://www.zdnet.com they have a lot of encoders and the like. most of it is shareware however so you'll need a crack for it *sees the fingers pointing* sorry bout the porn banners, http://www.cracks.am

I think MP3's are ok just because the do have good quality and are much smaller in size than waves or Audio images(for making CDs) However, Nothing digital compares to an actual CD ...Wav is about the best....Audio just doesn't sound the same in any format if it's compressed....However, has anyone use, tried or knows about "OGG Vorbis" or .ogg files? I saw a few things and plugins for winamp on their site for input plugins....It claims to have less quality loss than mp3

Correction
The OGG compression claims to have near to no loss in quality in comparison to .wav...I just read the bit again on Winamp's site...

the OGG Vorbis files are quite large but im not sure about quality loss. i wouldnt really bother with them.
