porn blocking
ive made a small app that appends to the hosts file and resolves any url entered to 127.0.0.1 and included a hosts.sam containing a list of add servers.
I wanted to do the same thing with porn sites but can't find a list of them on the net. i could always take the names out of a proxy server or something like netnanny but id rather not steal it.
If anybody knows of a free list on the net ....
TIA

If it resolves 'any' url to localhost then surely nothing is accessible?

Just go to Google and type in free public proxy servers.

Presuming you mean just send any requests for porn sites to 127.0.0.1 (or whatever address).
Why don't you check the html code of the page for any mention of xxx porn ...etc.?? or alternatively/additionally check the domain name for any of the above?
just a thought.
There\'s no sense in being Pessimistic...it would never work anyway.

Re:[[[TBBW]]]
it's not for my computer but for anyone why wishs to keep porn away from their family. i want to put it up for anyone who wants it (free), hopeing to be doing my part to help keep the internet unregulated.
if anyone wants the hosts file and/or .exe to block banners and web bugs ive attached the zip to this post. the zip contains files for win98 but the contents can be used for any system.
