How do you feel about Warez?

I think many people download stuff from warez sites/ftp or file sharing programs, but then again could you imagine what it would cost to run a bunch of programs say; win2k/dreamweaver/ or any other programming language M$ offers? A student could never afford all that and then again how are we supposed to learn?

warez.... hmmm.... who really needs it.... nearly every linux prog is opensource! mostly free 2 use for private stuff, but not commercial use... the only 1z who really uses warez r all the windoze users (enough said)..... there's probably no1 who haven't had warez on their box at some point but as soon as they see the light and install a *nix system on their box, they'll never need it again!

I think warez can be good and bad. It all depends what your purposes for the software is. I mean for students or 'newbies', they need the software etc to expand their knowledge. And without warez, I don't think we would have the talent and skill that has evolved from the current young generation. BTW I'm talking from a graphics/web designing/developing perspective.
Also, I do think it is fair that you use and learn a type of software, then after buy it and make money out of what you have learnt etc.

Warez is undesirable but a fact of life these days. So many people use warez these days its crazy. I used to use warez but got quite annoyed and Im clean these days.
The reason is warez is a hassle plus the moral implications depending on what type of person you are.
I wouldnt advise people to visit warez sites and download what youre looking for unless you fell you can justify your actions.

Usual reasons for using warez Ive heard:

a. Im only gonna use it once!
b. It costs too damn much Im skint!
c. I just like doing bad things that annoy serious people!

Reasons why people hate warez:

a. Think of the developers
b. Youre stealing and thats it

Im not gonna get all moral, use warez if you want, dont if you want it's a personal choice I suppose.

I have to agree here. This is considered stealing by the US government(not always by me). I guess that I have the robin hood mentality, Steal from the rich and give to the poor. The other thing is that I want to some day be paid to be a programmer, and having people give away my hard work for free would piss me off. Of course it is a little outrageous that Microsoft wants $579 for (1) copy of office XP. I guess they assume that only the upper class uses their products. Funny how I got StarOffice free with Mandrake Linux 8.0 for $25. Hell I'd go buy the old version of MSOffice for a big discount before I tried to get it off of warez or bought the new one though. The porn alone on warez(unless you like pictures of a naked Britney Spears look alike) is enough reason to stay away. I guess software piracy is an issue where I am torn.

Warrez sucks learn to Crack Programs if you really want pirated software.
