What is faster?
Im considering building a new computer, but Im not sure which is faster:
A System board with a 266 mhz frontside bus, with PC2100 DDR SDRAM or
A System board with 400 mhz frontside bus, with PC133 SDRAM.
I was preached to about the much better speed of DDR and was curious if it would perform better than a system with a higher bus speed assuming the processor speeds were equal.

well DDR memory is a lot better than 133 but, the processor that you'd get with a 400mhz (intel) would probably be quicker at most things (dont quote me on that one, it depends on the task) the 400mhz bus speed for the intel is only good when the rest of the system is up to speed (ie with RDRAM), otherwise i've heard that it aint al that brilliant. just my 3 cents (UK xchange rates)
There\'s no sense in being Pessimistic...it would never work anyway.
