what is the difference between windows logon and client for microsoft networks in primary network logon in windows98??
if i want my windows98 machine to logon to a windowsNT server which of the above two options must i use??
what is the windows family logon that you have in the add clients section of network neighbourhood properties..
what is a scope id ??

windows logon allows you to log on to the computer but not your network.
client for microsoft allows you to log on the network(workgroup or domain)
client for netware lets you log on to novell networks
family logon is about the same as windows(i think)

to log on to NT server you should you client for microsoft. probably using workgroups and static IP.
you might also want to enable file and print sharing to see each other.

I think the Windows Logon is just your logon for custom profiles (Such as custom persistent color chemes, different desktops, etc.) The Microsoft Networks Logon is probably what you want.

Windows family logon? Uhm... would that be the same as the "Windows Logon"? As for scope ID, ignore it. (Leave in blank, if you don't know what to set it to) It's basically a way to group computers in a Netbios network to cut down on unecessary traffic.
