    Angry Install time of XP

    Why can't Bill make a OS that only takes 10 mins to upgrade ???
    My iMac took only 10 mins to upgrade from 8.6 to 9.21...
    My iMac only took 15 mins to install OS 10.

    XP takes 70+ mins not including all the dammed patches
    now over 12 megs and climbing.
    I figure 3+ hrs of work to get XP to work more or less right...UGHHHH!!!!

    I know some people hate Macs but with all the Macs out there I figured
    I better know another OS...

    He has to show you all the features somehow. The only way is to show them during the install.

    Well I dont know , I installed Windows XP PRofesional on my 866Mhz 128 Megs of RAM. And it only took maybe half an hour, with all the updates and everything. Could be your computer

    Ive never installed XP, but it took 35 minutes to install 98se on my machine. By the way, when I was in a peripherals class we had to install windows 95 onto 486's that did not have cd roms. It took about 2 hours per machine. This meant the install with 15 floppies. We usually did 3 computers at a time. This took forever. Just formatting a relatively small hard drive is a long process with a 486.

    XP installs fast as a clean install, like 2k.

    i'm very leary about ms upgrades, had too many f*k-ups and systems that just dragged afterwards. a clean install is the only way to go.
