    Talking the very basic

    hi i'm gab from italy.
    i'm into computer security from just little time,to be honest i own a pc from little time.I suppose that before all i need to know how the web works.hey!I use internet,i'm not totally ignorant,i use windows but i'm not a programmer.i would like to know as much as i can about windows but also ms-dos,linux e unix;the way the web works:what's the difference between url,htp,http ecc.what is a server for,how it works.the mail.the chats.connections.how to bild home page and web sites.modems.data travelling.everything!!!!!.
    could you please advise me on the book and all the other information i need to start up,it will be real nice!

    initially read some books on security...but before that i would suggest u to read some basics on computers ..what languages u know....
    .....and read some general books like basics for dummiees...like that and then go higher...

    Ok first of all thats a very vague question and most people will glide by these kinda questions lookin for a more specific question to answer.

    A hacker [not a cracker] will use his/her own iniative and find out info for themselves and at times would need help they themselves cannot find and perhaps ask a question at a board like this one.

    Lightbulb Check this stuff

    gabriele. its awesome that you want to learn about all that stuff.. but thats alot to take at once.. i would recomend looking online for guides and how to's for how the web works.. then once you've pretty much got all of that down.. move on to basic security (important :-D ) and then if your gona learn about linux i recomend learning the basics of the perl programming language or c. and then pick up this book .. thats one of my favorite books of all time.. anyways.. good luck

    Talking manuals

    hi,it's gabriele silout
    right now i'm on a manual site,there are many different voices and i'm a bit confused.what specific manual or manuals do i need as real start up?or also tell me what specific subjects i need to look for?
    i would like to read all the manuals i found(one day i will)but it would be too much work to take in one go, isn'it?
