Handy latin phrases (what everyone needs)
These are some latin phrases that you might find funny (friend passed them off today at work...makes the backups I'm doing a lot less boring as we're laughing at some of them). Without further ado...

Is that a scroll in your toga, or are you just happy to see me?
Sentio aliquos togatos contra me conspirare.
I think some people in togas are plotting against me.

Di! Ecce hora! Uxa mea me necabit!
God, look at the time! My wife will kill me!
Lex clavatoris designati rescindenda est.
The designated hitter rule has got to go.
Caesar si viveret, ad remum dareris.
If Caesar were alive, you'd be chained to an oar.
Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?
How much would would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck would?
Animadvertistine, ubicumque stes, fumum recta in faciem ferri?

Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur.
Oh! Was I speaking Latin again? Silly me. Sometimes it just sort of slips out.
Hehe, hope you all enjoyed the laugh I got from some of these. Someone with way too much time on their hands definitely did a good job.

Haha, those are some good ones...a little translation into latin never hurt anyone (although I do NOT claim to be anything good at latin). Anyone know any more?

If that isn't the truth...sometimes I wonder if the Windows community (NT along with it) is nothing more than a glorified pool of beta-testers, unbeknownst to them. Funny how you never see any "Break this and win big" contests from MS too (on RA's post about oracle 9i).

Or even apple, come to think of it (hackpowerpc.com) - they had Linux PPC running on a then-brand-new box, and said "if you hack this box, and prove the hack to be repeatable, then you get to take the box home". It was great until idiots ran hundreds of DDoS attacks against the site. <sigh>
Oh, well.
