After lengthy research... and a few questions of friends... I have to say I would disagree with many of those "They never" things. Then again, I'm one of those Americans who actually didn't live in America their whole lives, so I guess I might have a skewed perspective...

But I don't think it's that extreme. I'm not in the class of 2004, but I feel comparatively close enough to comment. Here are some of the choice ones which I disagree with...

    > > > > > Tianamen Square means nothing to them.
    I've BEEN there... Jeez.

    > > > > > Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
What? Never had a glass-bottle coke?

    > > > > > They have likely never played Pac Man and have never heard of Pong.
LOL, I think they'd surprise you, those interested in computers.

    > > > > > They may have never heard of an 8 track.
My uncle has one, I've seen it! I've touched it!

    > > > > > As far as they know, stamps have always cost about 33 cents.
No, stamps cost different amounts of cents... but that's no in the US. Oopsy me. Do stamps here in the US usually cost 33 cents? I really didn't know that. I mean, I've been back here for a year... what are the stamp values again?

    > > > > > Most have never seen a TV set with only 13 channels,
Pssht! My current TV isn't even hooked up to the rooftop antenna! It's really a video-watching machine. And in Hong Kong, there were 11 channels.

    > > > > > There have always been VCRs, but they have no idea what BETA was.
I've never seen one, but I believe it was a competing standard to VHS.

    > > > > > They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
    LMAO.

    > > > > > They don't know what a cloth baby diaper is, or know
    > > > > > about the "Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up"
    > > > > > commercial.

Lol. I know what it is, and I've seen plenty of references to that commercial, and I know what it was about.

    > > > > > Roller skating has always meant in-line for them.
When I was in PE in elementary school, we had "normal" rollerskates. What gives?

    > > > > > Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
Ever been to a movie theater?

    > > > > > They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
    > > > > > They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
Heh. Didn't Robin Williams play Mork?

    > > > > > Michael Jackson has always been white.
    Lol.

    > > > > > McDonalds never came in styrofoam containers.
    What are you talking about?

    > > > > > They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
    I'm insulted.

    ------

I think that this thing really assumes several things...
That the kids are very priviledged and have many material worldly good from their well-off parents, and that they are generally slackers who aren't interested in any sort of history.

You "old fogies" just want an excuse to feel unique!

Well, I was born in 81, and frankly I'm slightly insulted by how ignorant you believe my generation to be.
